So you don't consider portraying a dying of cancer, and now dead, CEO and founder of the other company in an advertisement vindictive? You must be in politics ;)

I didn't see what you saw, obviously you are reading way too much out of it. That's a HUGE exaggeration and kind of sad IMO that people make up crap like that just to make MS look bad. If, and its only an if, they were indeed portraying Jobs why would the cancer matter? Did they portray him in a hospital bed, or in chemotherapy? Seriously, you can deduce that they portrayed a sick, cancer ridden dying man from 3 seconds of the back of an actors head?

How do things like this get approved and funded, let alone filmed, produced and uploaded to the public? Unbelievable.

Sad

Really, really sad ... and so are in ridiculous Surface ads with the Siri voice.

If I were the MS board, I would fire the entire Marketing department ... and Ballmer can not leave too soon.

Isn't it ironic that Apple uses Bing a Microsoft service for Siri on iOS 7?

Even more interesting is that Apple decided to use BING while at the same time Microsoft is creating ads to try and screw Apple. This is exactly why Microsoft keeps failing. They bite the hand that feeds them.

Microsoft? Please spend your money on innovating product rather than creating desperate ads that make you look foolish to your customers.

No Microsoft, no iCloud. Who needs who?

I just don't even think its funny... The wedding fight was funny- this was just stupid.

More like hooker who lost her looks, younger girls are sitting at the same bar stools she closed deals on years before and she's being a total bitch about it.

It's a little like those guys that hate on the only girl that would dance with them at their high school homecoming dance. Microsoft knows they're not in the same class as Apple when it comes to phones and mobile, and it drives them nuts.
:p

There is not such thing like cheap or free iPhone. They all cost 500-700$,this s the price you pay for unlocked version or trough montly plan, but you always pay this price.

But the android is different. 50% or more of their users use 200-300$ phones.

A $99 or freee iPhone costs no more and no less than a $99 or free Android phone. At the end of the contract, both customers have paid precisely the same amount.

I thought the video was funny and the likeness of Jobs was not tasteless at all.
I guess no one here has ever watched SNL or late nite TV?

In any case, for those clinging onto the notion the new iPhones are what everyone wants, I think stockholders have a different opinion:

Apple stock this week. The 11th is the day after the "Big Sell":

I said that I would like an SD slot in an iPad instead of having internal storage that can't be upgraded, but then someone here showed me the transfer speeds. I was unaware that SD card transfer speeds are MUCH slower than the internal storage, though I had checked before and thought they were about the same. That would make the device annoyingly unresponsive.

Apps go into internal storage. There is no unresponsive behavior. The SD card is used for data.

Stocks are the worst indicators of demand or success. They ALWAYS go down after an Apple keynote for some reason. They plunged hard after the iPad 1 reveal.

No Microsoft, and we would have had a real OS war instead of a battle between IT guys and users. It would have been OS/2 vs Mac, and that might have been much better for everyone.

Which is why they are pointless with proper cloud usage. That was the biggest scam Android devices pulled, claiming the SD cards were useful.

It is an upgrade, in much the same way that the current Macbook Pro is an upgrade from last years.

A lot of people are still expecting the huge leaps in design and functionality we were seeing back around 2007-2010, and, barring a few rare exceptions, that's just not gonna happen anymore. The mobile market has started to mature, the same way the PC scene did back during the turn of the century. It's all about incremental speed boosts and updates these days, with a few nice extra features thrown in when they become small enough or affordable enough.

In other words, the days when you'd upgrade your phone every year to get the absolute latest killer features are long over. It's something you'll do every 2-3 years now. From that perspective, the 5S is a great phone for someone coming from an iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, or 4S. But if you currently have the 5, it's just not worth it.
You nailed it. Nice job.

SD cards are quite useful to many people, no scam at all.

The fact that Microsoft spent this much time and money on this instead of getting their act together perfectly shows how broken they are.

Bye Microsoft.

Listen to yourself, you sound pyschotic. SD cards scam? Why do Macbooks have them then?

And cameras, laptops and almost any mobile device you can think of.

Isn't that the reason we pay the outrageous prices for Apple products and why Apple makes huge profit margins off their customers? If industry leading design and functionality are going away, then when, exactly, do Apple prices (and profits) fall in line with those of HP and Dell?

You should maybe read all the words so you know what I am talking about.

Marketing for phones and tabs with SD cards claim they increase storage. But all they do is let you swap out for different groups of songs. Any cloud system, such as Pandora or iTunes Match, is vastly superior for a phone, and mostly for a tablet. That is the scam. Not being able to put apps on the card makes them pointless to me. A few devices have allowed it.

How on earth would you think a laptop would apply to my comment about phones?

The iPad 1 was a real Apple innovation, and it was a product for a market that didn't exist at the time. It created the market. I think investors and the public, in general, knows where the 5S and 5C stand. The market already exists, is mature and is saturated with regurgitated phone hardware. The 5S and 5C just add to it.
