The iPad 1 was a real Apple innovation, and it was a product for a market that didn't exist at the time. It created the market. I think investors and the public, in general, knows where the 5S and 5C stand. The market already exists, is mature and is saturated with regurgitated phone hardware. The 5S and 5C just add to it.

If it's a product that is in demand, there is nothing wrong with improving it and keep the market flowing. In your sig, you have a 2012 MBP. Laptops have been out for at least a decade or two, so it's not a new concept, except better technology and design in general. Why do companies keep advertising and selling newer versions of their laptops? The Apple I or II was the real innovation, but why do we keep buying desktops and laptops with better specs? It's for improved performance and capabilities. The same can be said for the iPods, iPhones, cars, and so on.

As for Microsoft, I wouldn't give much hope for them. They did the same crap with Windows ME, Vista, just ads and campaigns and no real improvements. It'll pass by and no one will miss it. Microsoft have no discipline and consistencies in quality products. The only reason why they are still alive is because of business contracts where they could use their OS on other companies' products. They're a cash cow but have no idea how to use their money effectively and efficiently. What a waste. They should focus on restructuring their business and be a company that can come out with great products. It's easier to slack off and make fun of others as a way to defend yourself if you have no discipline.

^^^ You have to ask? Everything. Professional vs amateur night at the bingo hall.

And that's after noting that the Apple ads were crisp and professionally funny. The Microsoft ones were vague, sleazy (my word) and "off the mark" as Microsoft itself noted when withdrawing them.

I seem to recall Apple ripping shreds off MS for Vista in their I'm a Mac ads and at more than 1 keynote. How is this any different?

LMAO, so many anti-apple people here. Just laughable. So funny how they are quick to defend Microsoft in regards to the Get a Mac ads. At least those ads were comparative ads. Apple talked about features of the Mac that would benefit a customer. They weren't saying dumb crap like, "Give the customers the Finger".

Yep, it's Anti-Apple to call them out on things.

We should all just wildly praise them and curse anything their opposition does.

GO APPLE!

Sorry if someone has posted this before....

Is it possible that ms did this and retracted it just to create a media buzz about their bad videos so apple's 5C preorder and iOS7 launch would be overshadowed?

A lot of features on the get a mac ads were BS, or twisted in such a way to make macs sound better then they are. Those ads were bogus.

But feel free to call me anti-Apple. Ignore my signature all you want.

These videos aren't overshadowing anything... and they weren't seen by very many people either.

This Apple vs. Microsoft stuff is so childish.

Let's remember, Microsoft SAVED Apple's AS* back in I believe 1997? They could have been the almighty scum you claim they are, but instead they invested in a company that was in ruins and lets face it, without that investment there would be no iPhone or iPad or iPod's, a FACT that I know all you Apple mega-lovers will argue but if you really want to get into the economics of it, not just the face of it, the truth is Microsoft saved a dying company.

I used to be a die hard Microsoft guy but then I got an iPod, then an iPhone, then an iPad and then my first Mac, and I fell in love with the products and craved more, now I have every version of iPhone, and iPad, and multiple versions of iPods.

However, I still use Microsoft Office for the Mac, I find it highly superior to anything Apple puts out. Outlook alone is worth the money.

I do not want to get in fights and arguments but come on people, Apple has screwed up before, Microsoft has screwed up…EVERY company has screwed up…let it go. Don't lower yourself to that.

One final note, if indeed that was supposed to be Steve Jobs (which I don't think it was) then Microsoft was way out of line with that, but like I said, I doubt it was supposed to be him.

I am sure I will get flamed away here, but I hope some logical people that were actually young adults/adults that were aware of the MS-Apple Bailout will defend me in someway??

I dunno... these are still commercials about Apple Apple Apple.

The buzz is "did you see the commercials mocking Apple?"

If Microsoft wanted to steal Apple's thunder... they shouldn't mention anything to do with Apple!!!

Apple always controls the news cycle.

Microsoft must really find this video to be an embarrassment, since they have been going after the mirrored versions left and right. (Don't they understand that once you put something on the internet, it is there FOREVER?)

Has anyone reuploaded it? I saw it when it was up, but someone should reupload it so people can see.

Microsoft could only hope . . . . .

IF/when Microsoft ever releases a product that causes people to utter an involuntary "Wow", (in astonishment over design, quality, and execution . . . . . . NOT in a FAIL/VISTA/ME/Windows 8 sort of way) only then would the Redmond champion of mediocrity have any credibility to point a finger of castigation at a "competitors" product.

I would not portray Windows and OS X as competitive operating systems.

The decision process people engage in when making the purchase decision is unlike any other "shopping" process for other products.

Subjectively

I gotta agree with the ad. What the hell has Apple been doing the last 6 months? But unfortunately, the iPhone 5C/S will not flop. People will once again line up in droves. I don't understand it. They're not bad phones, but their not innovative.

You're probably the guy who hates Avatar just because most people liked it.

I've often thought about why Bill said yes to do that... However, Microsoft is a VERY different company these days, run by VERY different people.

Let's make sure the correct information is put out because it certainly isn't coming from you. You believed wrong.
Microsoft didn't SAVE anyone. That money that Apple received from Microsoft was from an Anti-trust suit against MS. They offered to settle out of court with Apple rather than drag the court hearings any further. Microsoft already was losing in court. Sure, Apple used those funds to restore themselves but they agreed to settle with Microsoft and made a deal in the interim and that was to allow Internet Explorer to be the default browser on the Mac since there was no default browser on the Mac. Please get your facts straight rather than being another one of those here who are defending Microsoft, which makes no sense on this forum.

Too late!!! Self inflicted wound shows they not only cannot innovate technically, even their ads are lame (or worse).

Absolute fail for MS....the "Titanic" picture people have of them just went to HD.

Boo hoo, bunch of winey little crybabies. The commercial was funny, big deal if it’s meant to be Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ivy. Questionable taste … give me a break. Apple has made some videos in the past that rip into Microsoft and they were funny too.

Pathetic this video was removed by the censor police. Don’t be so butt hurt; just enjoy watching the two companies slap each other around.
