this ad was terrible. except the part where he said it was worth its weight in phone. that was kind of funny.

I gotta agree with the ad. What the hell has Apple been doing the last 6 months? But unfortunately, the iPhone 5C/S will not flop. People will once again line up in droves like nice little iSheep. I don't understand it. They're not bad phones, but their not innovative.

Not innovative? Go and watch the part about the iPhone 5s again. The advanced technology packed into that tiny little device is out of this world! And time will prove that.

Funny how Mac obsessive claim it is a cheap jibe... yet during the iPhone 5S/C launch one of the features was "100% Android free"

Double standards much:rolleyes::apple:

Because the actor looks like Steve with the balding head rather than salt and pepper Tim

The character would never have changed his clothing if it were meant to be Steve.

Nor would the pitchmen have addressed him as Tim...

Advertising Fail!

Let me help out the marketing departments for makers of Android and M$ phones: we don't want an ad with "fighting robots" or "dancing hipsters" or anything else. Instead, how about just show us why YOUR product is worth buying?! Even if you were to convince me that Apple products are bad (which you won't) it still wouldn't convince me that YOUR products are good!

All of these millions of dollars spent on various campaigns and they still haven't conveyed to me why I would ever want to buy an Android or M$ phone. What a waste.

these only builds up apples name and push microsoft further down. how low are they willing to sink ?

I'm not sure what is more pathetic. These ads, or the fact that people think the back of some guy's head is suppose to resemble Steve Jobs. Nice click bait MR.

the characters in these commercials aren't even amicable. They come across as frustrated and bitter.

These ads do nothing to show the pros of their product.

They also provided no serious knocks against Apple products. So, these ads basically did nothing excepted help me decide that I don't like the people in charge at microsoft.

Do they show anything but the back of the head? If that's the case it's a bit silly to claim "striking resemblance" when you don't see their faces at all.

One of the things about that clip that stands out to me is the implication that they could do so much better. And the wish that they would. Not that they would fail, but that they would succeed better.

In a way I think we are still seeing that to a degree. Apple's success with the iPhone is in part because few other companies have really produced something outstanding. These other folks have failed in part because they just didn't bring it to the game. Samsung, to me, seems like the only folks that have. Which is why they are certainly dominating the Android world and are neck and neck with Apple in ways no other company is. Certainly not Microsoft

You know, I was actually just starting to feel a little sorry for Microsoft. But after watching this video, I feel like these douchebags deserve everything they have coming to them.

People need to lighten up. Pretty funny ad. This was no knock at Jobs at all. The ad said Tim and in a Youtube ad like this, they weren't about to search for the best Cook look a like possible. 99% of the people who will watch this ad realize Jobs passed away so its taken for a given its not him. Most people don't even know who the new Apple CEO is and yes Cook often does dress in black somewhat similar to Jobs. And he is pretty thin himself.

Apple does deserved to be bashed for STILL not coming up with a good midrange phone in the $399 to $449 price range. I'm an Apple shareholder that has made a good chunk of change on my Apple shares but until they come up with such a phone, they will continue to lose market share to Android and yes Windows phone. Windows phone is already doing better then some people think internationally and looks like it may gain further ground next year as well.

It's understandable that Apple doesn't want to compete with an excellent entry level phone such as the Nokia Lumia 521 with Windows 8 at $124 but not competing in the $399 to $449 price range with a darn good up to date phone is taking your customers for granted. The ad points this out.

And before folks say iPhone 4s, it should have at least been updated to LTE and had a few more upgrades if they were going to still try and charge $450 for it.

People should be applauding Microsoft and Google since quite frankly those companies are preventing Apple from trying to charge even more for their products.

A lot people seem to be focusing on the fact that MS didn't mention their product in the ad. That's not what this type of ad is designed to do. By pointing out the short-comings of the market leader, they are trying to encourage people to look at other options, hence the "time to switch" tag at the end.

However, if I (and many others) were to look at other options, it would most likely be an Android, not a Windows Phone.

Microsoft employee: "Let's design some quick clips around a collection of stereotypes and make fun of Apple. No one will buy the phone if we make fun of them."

Consumers in line at Apple store: "Should we prank call the Microsoft store and ask if we can stop by and keep them company on their shift?"
