Couldn't agree more!! OS X is up to almost 4% of all the computers in the world.. Poor Windows is only on 90% of the world's computers. They are toast, MS is DEAD!!! WOOOO HOOO Everybody, now turn and face Cupertino, drop to your knees, and join NebulaClash in our evening prayers to Steve!!!!

Heh, I'm going to enjoy watching the future and knowing you said this.

Please note I said nothing about OS X in my comment. Interesting that you assumed this in your response. No wonder Windows users are blind to what is happening.

This is the decade of the tablet. If what Microsoft seems to have planned for their versions of the tablet computer is any indication, they are truly going to be left in the dust.

I have a MBP and a Windows 7 laptop as my work computer. Windows 7 is an amazing OS, and I often find myself booting up my MBP into Windows 7 (something I'd rarely do with XP, and I skipped Vista).

Competition is great because it keeps companies on their toes. iPhone has to innovate thanks to Android, and Microsoft has to innovate thanks to Apple. In the end the consumer wins thanks to more choices that are of high quality.

I have helped a couple of people create bootcamp partitions on their Mac products and load Windows 7 up onto them. I don't support piracy so I had them purchase a legit Windows 7 copy. Thanks to bootcamp or VMWare, every 1 Apple product sold does not mean Microsoft lost 1 sale. I'd be curious to see what percentage of Mac users have purchased Windows.

This is very much like the American automotive market of the 1950's where you started to have chrome, fish tales and a other novelties start to make the buying decision over how many cylinders and horsepower. In a way, the current generation of PC Modders with custom cases, lights and overclocking is akin to the "Hot Rodders" of the 1950's.

That doesn't exactly sound like a good sign for the PC industry - as any student of automotive history will tell you, the fins+chrome era of American auto production went on until American cars were massive gas hogs which then got pwned beyond belief by more fuel-efficient imports...

Genuine question.

I've been reading excellent reviews of the new USB3 external drives with there phenomenal speeds. Do the new macs that are about to launch support these new drives?

The amount of bull **** on their page is ridiculous.

What?

Honestly! My first reaction was, "What? They have to set up their home network to share? HAH."

Also, another fave of mine:

Apple's productivity suite file formats won't open in Microsoft Office on PCs.

... Microsoft Office for Mac. Problem solved. If there are any compatibility issues there, it's Microsoft's own damned fault! I personally use iWork and haven't had a single problem with clicking Export instead of Save.

You grossly overestimate the sophistication of most computer users. There is a group of people keeping the computer section of Best Buy solvent!

Really?
I understand computers and as such I like most people here think that is some funny stuff. I read this site and DSLR daily as well have Facebook etc.
That site is stupid and should be an EMBARRASSMENT for MS.

I had to do a double take on the URL after reading that site. Microsoft actually posted that as a part of the Windows 7 website? Wow, they're grasping

Stuff like, "For example, the mouse works differently. And many of the shortcuts you're familiar with don't work the same way on a Mac. "

"Gee, the next town over has different roads than mine, better not leave home and go over there." Or, "Europe uses a funny kind of money and the signs look different, it must be bad there". WTF?

Macs only come in white or silver. PCs are available in a full spectrum of colors across a range of price points.

That's all they have to say?

This site is going to sell MORE Mac's. They might as well put a link to the Apple Store on the site.

This campaign is really stupid and insulting to our intelligence, but my next computer will be a PC and if my iMac's internal hard drive didn't straight up die a year after i bought it I would dual boot or even try to install just Windows in a heartbeat. Windows 7 is a very nice OS. Mac was a nice six-year fling.

It's kind of funny they even bothered. Microsoft should just admit defeat and keep stomping what little competition they have in the enterprise market, which is where they make all their money in the first place.

Admit defeat? Are you serious? I'm a recent Mac convert and I love it, but Microsoft is huge and still dominates the home computer market and they will for many years to come. Apple is finally starting to make some inroads into their bottom line and getting on their radar a bit more, that's all.

Also, they are starting to get smarter. I just went into a Microsoft store for the first time at a nearby mall yesterday, and I must say, I was quite impressed. They even had a multimedia kiosk out front with a couple of large screens demoing some new Xbox games that worked with controllers that just sensed your body movement. Pretty cool.

Even though I'm a happy Apple geek now with my iPhone/iPad/Mac Pro/Macbook Pro, I'm glad to see both companies do well. It's good for everybody. I'm a bit tired of all the hate spewed at Microsoft. To be honest, that was one of the things that kept me from switching for quite a while. I hated the "I'm a Mac" commercials and all of the bold face lies and negative advertising. I also hated the smug attitude of many of the rabid Apple fans on forums. Unfortunately even this one seems infested with quite a few.

You know what I mean. Windoze, Winblows, M$ and all this other juvenile drivel. I certainly agree that there are misrepresentations and misleading items on the PC vs Mac page, but nothing any worse that what Apple has been doing for years. I used to sit and watch the Mac commercials talking back to the TV about how inaccurate or distorted they were, but hey, that's advertising in the real world.

What's stupid and insulting about it? I actually think it's pretty well done. I tried to look at it through the eyes of a Windows user who is thinking of switching (obviously their target) and I think most of it is pretty effective.

Just a bit curious as to why you don't just replace the drive on that iMac? They are dirt cheap now.

You grossly overestimate the sophistication of most computer users. There is a group of people keeping the computer section of Best Buy solvent!

You're right, but this ad is only spreading the ignorance instead of educating people on the actual differences between the two platforms. That's really what frustrates me about it.

Of course, Apple's ads are biased and exaggerated as well, but they're nowhere near the same level of BS as this.

I loved that part. Also if you go through their "Laptop Suggester" there's a part where it plays the unmistakable sound of a 68k or PPC Mac ejecting a floppy, while a CD tray is coming out of a refrigerator. Hmm.

And didn't Windows take Ctrl+C from the Mac? What did we have to use to do in DOS and Windows, something like Ctrl-Shift F4 to copy? haha

Though to be fair, Apple did eventually add Function keys (or at least little tiny lettering) to Apple keyboards, too. So they both copy from each other. :)

When I read this I about DIED laughing!

Simplicity
Intuitive, familiar, and easy to use, PCs do what you want: they just work.

God, I cringe everytime I have the displeasure of seeing a Microsoft ad. They make the absolute worst ad's next to Rogers cell phone ad's. Annoying people saying stupid things. The one with the douchemeisters watching Zombie. Oh jeez. Come on! Guaranteed, these particular losers have got the Tranformers movies on 24/7 rotation (when they're not watching Do You Think You Can Dance?)

:p

Most popular brand... that's a bit misleading, isn't it?

Windows is more popular than Mac OS for college students' notebooks, is it not? Let's compare apples to apples (no pun intended).

And this: "Apple's productivity suite file formats won't open in Microsoft Office on PCs. This can be a real hassle for Mac users sharing work documents with PC users. "

The biggest compatibility problem I have with any of the software I use is between the Windows and Mac versions of MS OFFICE!

The whole section of the site just sounds like a whinny kid...

I find the "Simplicity" tab hysterical... from "The mouse works differently." to "Unlike Macs... Windows 7 support touch" and the famously useless windows "snap feature"

And I love how they even copied Macs slogan "They just work"
