Nice. I'm downloading it now (64-bit without developer tools) to put into a VM. I guess Microsoft meant 8pm Eastern instead of 8pm Pacific.
I was going to grab the 64 for my VM, but decided on the 32. Any reason I should grab the 64 instead?

That almost an oxymoron, since their x86 line of products is pure stay away from it junk.

I wonder if Apple will make it an 8th straight year.

Everyone is aware of the fit and finish and reliability of Apple hardware. Apple is famous in the industry for that.
Because of the convergence argument. I really dislike a lot of devices that does almost the same. Sometimes, we're carrying together more than one: smartphone, tablet and laptop. So why even bother putting it on a tablet?
It's ok not being better. You could use a wacom tablet if you wanted. Apple is the king of not using state-of-the-art hardware and it is successful. That is the same as saying an Apple Cinema Display is worse than an Eizo high-end display. This doesn't make ACD useless.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt these tablets have the necessary hardware to make drawing with a stylus work better than a wacom tablet.
No, scrolling is not the problem as people rarely use the UI interface elements to scroll (they instead either use gestures or dedicated hardware such as scroll wheels). I'm talking about things like the close window button or menus (notice how they don't do any of that stuff during the demo videos). The Aero UI just does not have enough space to make up for the loss of pixel accuracy in a touch interface. And a touch interface wastes a huge amount of space in a mouse driven interface.
They're two completely different metaphors for interacting with a computer that do not mesh. Morphing back and forth capriciously like Windows 8 will only confuse the heck out of the user.
You do know that satisfaction doesn't equate to quality and durability, right? Please check your personal anecdotes at the door.
Why so threatened? And don't say you aren't - because anyone that attacks Ballmer, MS and the like so much has at least a FEW issues. If you weren't threatened - your posts wouldn't be so nasty towards the company. You have this "if you're not apple, you're crap" mentality and quite frankly it's both hilarious and sad at the same time.
Relax - Apple ins't going anywhere. You don't have to try and knock the competition to make yourself feel better. No one is coming over to steal your Apple products and replace them with other manufacturers.
Holy mother of god !
Windows 8 look awsome. Ill be in store as soon as windows 8 is available. Ill be gettng a new computer , a new cell phone and a new tablet to replace my mac , my iphone4 and my ipad2

I can't find the sample size for this.
I will be getting the vanilla ISO tonight and the developer tool packed one tomorrow.Nice. I'm downloading it now (64-bit without developer tools) to put into a VM. I guess Microsoft meant 8pm Eastern instead of 8pm Pacific.
You actually need to know exact sample sizes to figure out there's probably a good reason Apple sells record numbers of Macs quarter for quarter despite the availability of cheaper and openly-licensed options (and even in a recession)?
You need a sample size to determine how and why Apple gear keeps topping consumer satisfaction ratings year after year?
Hint: they're probably doing something to Macs to make them score that way with consumers. Consistently.
Hmmm . . . what oh what could it be?
Microsoft aren't making any compromises because they're more concerned with crafting the best possible user experience and that means cramming the OS with every possible feature, whether it's needed or not. Complexity is always better than minimalism.

I have some friends that want the ISO tomorrow. I want to have a chance to play tonight as well. They were expecting the 11 PM EDT launch. I was not expecting it out early.I'm getting the dev tool one first and 32 bit for a VM later. 50% done.

I just thought this was the best quote ever because I honestly thought your post was completely sarcastic but I'm not really sure now.
The iPhone 4 fiasco contradicts the so-called evidence you provided.
Apple's released more duds than successes: Cube, Apple TV, MobileMe, iPhone 4, Final Cut Pro X, and Lion.
I'm afraid you are cherry-picking data to fit your confirmation bias. The iPhone 4 fiasco contradicts the so-called evidence you provided. Also, HTC's CEO conducted a survey that proves that the iPhone is quickly becoming unpopular.
I'm happy that you're enthusiastic about the products you love but your talent for prognosticating is poor. Your prediction that the iPad would be a revolutionary device has yet to become true. In fact, I don't think you've ever been right about anything. Apple's released more duds than successes: Cube, Apple TV, MobileMe, iPhone 4, Final Cut Pro X, and Lion.
