Your personal anecdotes doesn't equal reality, Vista has the lowest satisfaction rates while Leopard has the highest followed by Tiger.Let's see...
first, saying Windows is all work no play. That's funny because Windows has built-in support for HDTV tuners (multiple tuners), it has the industry standard API for 3D gaming, gaming hardware that is far more powerful than the current consoles only runs under Windows thanks to Apple not supporting them via drivers (Apple writes the drivers for OS X, not nvidia or ATI), Windows has better support for movies (full bitstream decoding) as well as support for blu-ray and HD DVD discs. Windows PCs tend to have HDMI as a standard feature, so connecting that more powerful than the MacBook Pro system that cost half as much and has blu-ray to your HDTV is a snap, with no need for a mess of dongles, adapters, and cables.
Also, their "Vista has problems" ads. I've been using Vista since launch, and even used the public betas before that, and never once had a single issue with anything on any of the multiple systems I've used it on. I've used it on 3
different Macs and 4 different PCs and none of them have had any kind of
issue. Funny enough, Vista with the Boot Camp betas was more stable than
Tiger and Leopard on the same machine.
Shall I go on?
Went to the HP site and did a buy upgrade option.....by the time I added the additional software and hardware options to get this computer to the same level as a MacBook Pro it was over $2300.00.....
Think Giampaulo should reconsider...![]()
Except that this isn't a gay club, it's open for all orientations, and while the site is called MacRumors (as opposed to MacFansOnly), it spans everything from iPod Shuffles to XServe hangars. Since there are millions of people who own iPods and iPhones without owning a Mac, the site is bound to attract a lot of PC users who own any of those gadgets. There's also plenty of free software from Apple that runs on PCs (Safari, QuickTime, iTunes, MobileMe), so you don't even have to own any Apple hardware to have a stake in Apple's beezwax. On top of that, Macs run Windows, hence it's perfectly possible to own a Mac and still be primarily a Windows user. Lastly, there's something called switchers, i.e. potential Mac users who are on PC and trying to get a sense of what the Mac community is like. Then they run into aggressive and rude people like you, and swear to never look at a Mac again."This is a gay club, we are all gays, and we all hate meeting women simply because we're not interested. Then you come to our party and start bringing lots of women to the place, and saying that gays are mentally disabled lowly creatures. Then we react and say: this is our club, and you're invading it, even though there are a thousand other 'normal' clubs for you to visit. Then you reply that we shouldn't be gays, or that this club sucks."
Wow someones mad that Apple is getting shown to be what it really isThe Bose of computing.
Yes, but a so short product lineup some limitations don't make any sense. Specially if you look at the price (ex: no video recording on iphone that costs 500€ in Portugal) Do you understand what i meaning?

Him too, kinda, but I mostly meant Lauren. I don't think she signed up to be a recurring character like Justin Long, she probably just wanted to do the one commercial and get her paycheck. But now all of us cybergeeks are basically cyberstalking her because of the one commercial she did, and that's what's a little unnerving.
So every paper I've ever written for school doesn't exist. So everything I've done in CS4 doesn't exist.
It's absolutely disgusting of you to say that because something isn't publicly available, it doesn't exist. This shows no intelligence on your part whatsoever.
So the iMac with the 4850 doesn't exist, then, eh?
So you have all these problems with Macs but yet you keep buying more? No, you don't. You forget that even if 2 million PCs got infected, thats still less than 1% of total PCs running Vista and a fraction of a percent running XP.
Well, I've been using OS X since 10.4.8 and I have a UniBody MacBook now. Been using Vista since before retail launch, XP since retail launch, and Windows since 3.0. I also used Macs back in the System 7 days.
Why do I like Windows better? Lot's of reasons.
Here's a perfect example. Today I bought an external display. It has HDMI, VGA, and DVI inputs. All it took was an HDMI cable to connect it to my PC. Upon first connection, Vista asked me if I wanted to clone or extend my desktop, or use the external display only. I clicked external only, it choose t
he right resolution and refresh rate and shut off the built-in display. That was
it. I didn't need to do anything else.
Now with the Mac. Of course I had to buy a silly adapter. I plug the adapter plus the cable in. Upon first connection Mac OS X extended my desktop. Okay
I don't want that. My only options in software are to clone or extend. With clone I can't pick the proper resolution, but with extend I can. The only way to disable the built-in display is to sleep the system by closing the lid and then
wake it via an external keyboard and mouse or remote control. Then I can use the external display properly. But thanks to Apple's nvidia drivers, I have vsync
issues with flash video content on the external display.
Windows XP on the MacBook behaved nearly the same way as Vista did on the PC. It didn't give me a display prompt, but I was able to disable the built-in
display via software without having to sleep the system.
Now let's talk about other things. System stability. I've been using Vista on multiple PCs and Macs since launch and I've never had an issue with stability
with it. The only stability issue I ever had with XP was back when it first launched and I tried to connect a parallel port scanner that the manufacturer specifically stated was supported on XP. Naturally that caused a BSOD. Funny
enough, I was able to install the drivers in Safe Mode and it functioned just
fine after that.
With OS X on various Macs and various minor and full revisions, I've had random instability no matter what I've done. It wasn't until recent updates to
Leopard could actually say its almost as stable as Vista. I've had it crash doing everything from emptying the trash to burning data to DVD.
Theres also a lot of other nice little things about Windows that OS X can't do. For instance, gaming. I like to play the occasional game. Windows let's me do that. Apple has largely ignored game developers, so game support on the OS
is largely half-assed. You get poor Cider ports or ports from Aspyr that don't run half as good as their Windows counterparts despite both using OpenGL
(Doom 3 is a good example of this).
Another thing would be video support. With a PC you can have multiple HDTV tuners connected, WMC (a far better interface than Frontrow) will control them
all. Not only that but I can get blu-ray support and watch my movies with twice the resolution and nearly 10x the bitrate of Apple's iTunes "HD" movies. The difference between the two is staggering.
I'm a big A/V person, so OS X just literally fails in this department. Frontrow is disgustingly limited compared to Windows Media Center in Vista (and XP,
though XP MCE is ugly). OS X can't do half of what I want it to do when it comes to playing back video (DVD, blu-ray, recorded TV), and it can't play my games. It can do music great, but unfortunately it doesn't have Milkdrop 2. I'm
not about to give up the best visualizer on the market just because iTunes has a prettier interface for keeping my music all in one spot.
I'll go on more later..
As for the iMac with the 4850, if it's not yet legally on sale, NO, it DOESN'T EXIST. So provide us REAL opinions on products that I can order or have TODAY, not in the vaporware future.
I have absolutely no idea why you mention your text files or CS4...it's like saying that BeOS is the best OS on the Mac because you were able to install and run it once.
Long, Hodgeman, and Goldblum are actors...
70 percent of what market?
And a weak point it is. While Apple is slowing the production and expects up to 60% drop in sales, others are enjoying increased demand primarily due to the low cost Netbooks.
Vaporware? Alpha? The beta has been out for months and the release candidate will be released any day now, and freely available for download (unlimited downloads, I might add). Since the RC expires a few months after the official release, virtually everyone who is even remotely interested in Win7 will leave Vista behind and move to the RC no later than the beginning of May.So your piece of vaporware will remain just that...a wonderful alpha of a product that doesn't exist
Did you see my "if" above?
No they don't. First off, I already have a vaio, trust me it's no marvel at all, and they don't have kickass design, they are better than most of course, but since unibody their design is a a messy affair of screws. They are nowhere nea apple, right now. Unibody has burried everything in lappies, the flow and simplicity that is this aluminum monoblock isn't anyther to be found. About the air the small vaios are dogs with vista cause they have integrated graphics that vista can't handle at all, and I tried one too and I dont find the ee form factor comfy at all, I d much rather do my casual surfing on my iphone and the keyboard tasks on the air. Then don't get one of this supposed "vast majority", get one with kickass design, like a Vaio. Since you're willing to pay Mac money, you don't have to resort to clunky bargain-basement PCs. The smallest Vaios make the MacBook Air look oversized.
They are not morons, I don't know how old you are but as a 15+ pc user I have "managed " to get infected a gazilionth of times and I am a power user, until of course now that they made vista a dog with all sorts of armories counter this counter that to avoid gettng infected...Wait..ok you say win98, come on...I had about 20 complete system crashes in my main machines only since then...let's be honest here...To cover their own asses, to the point where there's no gratification in spreading malware. The morons who manage to get a Vista PC virus-infested are either complete n00bs, or they're asking for it by downloading warez with embedded viruses AND ignoring the warning issued by UAC, or they're clicking YES > OH YES > I'M 100% SURE > I'M REALLY REALLY 10000% SURE when a Russian porn site asks if it can install a program on the system. I never had any viruses back in the Win98 days when it was much easier to get them, and I sure as sh*t don't have any now.
Do your research. Microsoft was the first company to demonstrate an instant search function (in an early build of Longhorn), long before Spotlight was known to anyone outside Apple. Apple and Google, who both have a much much shorter time to market, beat Microsoft to the punch, which wasn't hard to do given that Longhorn/Vista was delayed several times. This timeline is well documented, sorry.
First off I told you to not include cut/copy and you did, I concede there...let's talk about what you did mention: Windows update? Are you joking? Go to ANY office -and mine too- and see it TURNED OFF in every machine,Windows Update makes Apple's crude (and obtrusive) Software Update look like something out of 2002. Explorer has a lot of functionality you won't find in Finder, such as cut/copy/paste files, undo file operations, and full Explorer functionality in Save and Load dialogs. It has way, way easier setup of a home network, like if you want to map a network drive permanently to your machine and have it act like a local disk. Mounting network shares permanently in Leopard is quirky. And when you do heavy duty file operations like move several gigs over the network or to an external drive, Vista shines because if it stumbles upon a file that's open, locked or for some reason can't be moved or copied, it will pause the operation, ask how you want to proceed, allowing you to close the file (if that's the problem) and then continue the operation when you're ready. Wanna know what Finder does? It flat out gives up and leaves you to sort out the file mess, like older Windows versions did. iTunes, while technically not part of the OS, can't even monitor folders for updates, you have to add files manually. WMP will keep constant track of your media folders and update the library accordingly. Those are a few I can think of right now. I could give you a similar list where OS X outshines Windows, but you didn't ask for one.
It's something a normal user may do once or twice a year if he wants to maximize performance. Only crazy-assed gamers and warez junkies who install and uninstall a dozen applications a day and are totally anal about optimal performance 24-7 need to mess with the registry so much that it becomes a weekly or monthly chore.
Honestly, both Windows and OS X are perfectly functional environments to work in, they both have their pros and cons, it's a matter of taste more than anything else. Just as long as you don't become a fanboy of either platform, you're in the clear.
Right, that's nothing like IE...

LOL, so ewuatig your brand to being cheap is a good thing, I wonder why all companies aren't going this route.I think MS hit a homerun on these ads. Cheap is the buzz word of the year. The potential buyers are not going to bother why the Mac is a superior product. Hardware & OS differences will not be researched by the consumer. They see a super low price coupled with specs numbers that suggest bigger is better vs the Mac. We can nitpick all we want but the message from MS will work. PC are cheap. PC are good enough.
MS doesn't care if Windows is never mentioned.
Every PC sale is automatic $$ for MS pockets.

THESE ARE ADS ABOUT PCS WITH VISTA, NOT 7.
Again, the ads are about vista, vista, vista.
We can't argue on non commercial software.
Again, we are talking about the ads, these guys bought VISTA.
