It might be because Fivedent doesn't roll off the tongue as well as Trident. Guess they should've thought about that before adding those two extra prongs.
Does it have tattoos?

Elixa, Edge, and Endeavor. With either Microsoft or Windows before it. Microsoft Edge won out.
It uses a forked version of Trident, so it's not entirely new. But it's different enough that it's no longer compatible with old IE. Hence why it's still lurking around in the background for the time being.
I've used it, and you can tell just by looking at how it renders webpages that it's not exactly the same. Font rendering is a helluva lot better, for one.

I'm really glide to hear that.
Really, one of my biggest complaints about Windows in general was font smoothing. Compared to OS X, Windows font is thin and pixelated. Is it still like that in W10?
Windows management in OS X is terrible compared to Windows. OS X requires at least two clicks for every action that only requires one in Windows. Apple needs to hire a UX expert to make OS X more efficient and user friendly. And allow users to customize the interface with color! Black and white is boring.
Microsoft seems to be the real innovator these days. The minimalist Metro design and touch friendly apps are very appealing.
I mean, they already have Cortana, might as well continue with Halo references right?![]()

And in typical MS fashion, these aren't even references that they invented. They took (bought) them from Bungie.
They aren't dying, though that market has shrunk ...
MS is positioning itself to cater to just that audience. They don't have anything to worry about.
Every company has something to worry about - certainly Microsoft does! I sure hope they don't have your attitude!
It's install footprint? I think it's down to under 10GB now... Or do you mean memory? RAM's cheap if you aren't maxed outI guess we have different things to look forward to in the next version.

Internet Explorer was a poor name choice, in that it sounds too much like Windows Explorer (because after all, it only runs on Windows). In our minds, we only hear the word Explorer, because we think "of course it runs on Windows." So people have trouble hearing you correctly when you say "Windows Explorer" - it can be challenging in support scenarios.
But Explorer itself is a good name - especially when it refers to the internet. They're going to loose all that name-recognition value that the world's most-used browser has built up over the years. It's not like it's been bad recently - the last few versions have actually been quite good.
Edge is starting all over. It means nothing, and is probably the worst name of any popular browser I can think of.
Microsoft and Apple are both loosing much of their direction and common sense. It's probably because the people in charge don't care enough. They want to make money, but they're not passionately involved.
No, but it does explain what people want. Their biggest profit ever for Q1 2015 is certainly not prove of stupidness as you are saying.
Maybe you should wait for the Surface 4 which supposably will launch alongside Windows 10It looks really good. Man, I'm really tempted to get a Surface 3 and run Windows 10 on it...
Very odd number there...maybe check this sometime:This is funny, because 80% of the computers in the world still use Windows 95/98/2000. I think the US Government still uses floppy disks.
At least they're trying to rectify previous mistakes.
Ship's probably sailed though.

I use both Windows and OS X and don't understand what you said. I find using Windows file management more annoying. Guess it's what you are used to... maybe you don't really know how to use OS X finder.
This new browser is very edgy. All edge. No sides. Just edge.
Microsoft can have its Edge. The next generation of Apple browser will be called Rounded Corners.
Actually apple will call their new browser snappy![]()
