That's not what the turtlenecked overlord and his brain-washed minions want you to believe.
You forgot to mention no shoes and a the 32" waist, worn out blue jeans.
That's not what the turtlenecked overlord and his brain-washed minions want you to believe.
Agreed, over-customizeability can complicate and ultimately ruin a product.
If thats what you're looking for, theres this company called microsoft.
*ahem* Android 2.2 supports all of that.
Wow, I just went to Microsoft.com and not one mention of the phone there. I mean when apple launches a new product it's plastered all over the homepage.
Then Apple introduced the iPhone and everything changed. Now every smart phone looks like an iPhone, before none of them did.
Don't give competition too much credit. In the case of phones and smartphones it has delivered very poorly.
The handsets look very nice, and the OS is a fresh take on mobile computing, as opposed to being another iOS clone. I don't think WP7 will do well in the marketplace, but I applaud Microsoft for doing something different.
Centered around "hubs" that allow users to quickly see a variety of pieces of information related to such topics as People, Music, Photos, and Office,
[...]
In a departure from the icon-focused user interface used by Apple and others, Microsoft has chosen to utilize a flowing interface of flexible "tiles" that can each represent various pieces of information depending on the type of data required to be presented.
Let's see what these puppies can do. Hopefully they'll spawn more innovation.
MS IS DEAD. WINDOWS 7 IS DEAD. AND SO IS ADOBE.

They launched with 9 different handsets? How different could all those phones possibly be? Seems unnecessary .
Then don't clutter it. On the other hand, I'd like weather to go along with date and time.
Isn't choice grand ?
Then don't put it there. And I fail to see how "Rain/Sun" and "degres" are personal info.
Seriously people : Choice. Look it up, it's a nice word.
A Windows Phone is there to keep them relevant in the smartphone world and that's it. Ballmer's pockets are still going to be filled with golds coming from the Windows and Office monopolies and this won't change in the foreseeable future.![]()
If you can not convince them... confuse them.

If you'll peruse the hardware sales on the right, you might notice something.
X360 43,711,042
PS3 38,015,409
You can dig up the comparisons to the PS2 era in your own time.
The point being that the game completely changed this generation, something the Sony fanboys could never see happening. Hubris is a dangerous thing, etc
I'm sorry I missed LTD's gem about IBM. Ridiculous. IBM may not be in the eyes of the consumer - but I can rattle of hundreds of thousands of companies that use IBM software (and hardware) for their backend systems. I think IBM isn't too worried about losing the consumer part of their business.
P.S. (to LTD) - it's ignorant to make statements like that anyway. IBM's hardware and software infrastructures at companies around the world very much affect the END USER.
ETA: LTD - Microsoft is past their prime? Yeah.. ok. Again - ignorance is bliss I guess.
I'm not a troll - but MAN do some of your posts make me look like someone who doesn't like Apple when I actually do just to counter your silliness
iOS still has plenty wrong with it too, mind you. And I'm not bashing. I am pretty much all apple now as far as computers/phones/ipads/etc
But the email app on the iPhone is sorely lacking some basic functionality. The camera app lacks some basic functionality. There are plenty of bugs/quirks/"features" in iOS that fill up the message boards here and yet it's so easily to write off Android and MS's new platform (which no one here has even used) just "because." Again hypocrisy. It's funny.
I think it's more than Windows and Office. People seem to forget that MS also has products which cater to infrastructures for big businesses. I tried to pull up their market share - which I don't think is "incredible" - but there's definitely big business in it. People tend to focus on only what a company produces for a consumer leaving out big business and industrial applications.
What was Microsoft thinking? If Microsoft was serious they would be making the hardware themselves.
So is it that Apple users are idiots, the general public is stupid or both? Because comments like that and others who say that anything but ONE choice is confusing seem to lack the brain power to make a choice.
Is it confusing to get dressed in the morning? All those different clothes. Different colors. Shorts? Pants? Sweater? Shirt? Vest? Jacket? Oh no. My poor brain...... OYE!
Saying this first I know this doesn't apply to all business but at least for most around here that I deal with. When I ask why they still use only windows and windows server (not to say anything bad because I am looking forward to aurora and sbs7) is because it is cheap and easy to use, especially in bulk from Dell.
I've only had a handful, say 4-5, that ask about Apple or other products because they almost brainwashed...... BUT every single one of them have deployed iPhones to a majority of the staff, when asked why they are using it instead of a blackberry or win mobile I get, "because it's a better phone and easy to use"
I beg to differ. Oh the irony when someone keeps trying to prove something they're not. If you were reading your own posts like the rest of us are (that don't have you on ignore) you might understand why you have to keep defending yourself.![]()
No these commenters like to confuse the issue by saying to much choice is confusing, but they get it. They are just pretending in fear that Jobs might reject their net iPurchase.
Yet it takes three steps to turn On/Off wifi. And Bluetooth, which is also an 802.xx standard is relegated to General Settings. Very intuitive.
No irony. And if you think I'm a troll then you have reading comprehension issues. But I expect nothing else from someone still bitter over the fact that they were proven to be completely wrong about the definition of Customer.
Because for twenty years we've had to listen to the Windows crowd bash, denigrate and make fun of Mac users. Now that Apple is the company on top, the one to beat and Microsoft is the late underdog to the party we're supposed to be all happy and encouraging to them? I don't think so. Microsoft got where they are by anti-competitive behavior, by stifling innovation, by literally buying out the competition and then sweeping it under the rug.
You apparently haven't been around long enough to remember when the internet was 99% Windows only and Mac users were quite nastily told to go away as we weren't worth accommodating.
Mark my words. Ballmer and Microsoft will try their damnedest, spend as much money as it takes, and pull every anti-competitive trick in the book to get their mobile OS going. They've already offered to pay iOS developers to port their apps to WP7. So no, we don't want WP7 to get any traction at all. I, for one, will never accept being assimilated by the Borg and Uncle Fester. Not now.
And I find it interesting that you love to tell people that they have reading comprehension as you said that to me and a few others. Yeah, I remember your posts just like you remember mine about the customer argument. No worries, I got a few PM's from other forum members about you on that subject, we had fun trading PM's.
Just make sure you check out my sig.
Bitter? Me? I don't waste my time being bitter over posters like you. You're all about entertainment for me here. Just a big joke.
You keep on bashing LTD for liking Apple products, so what? Why do you care if he preaches the holy grail? You act like nobody here has an opinion but you.![]()
