I was a PC user for years and would never use an Apple product because I thought they were crappy. I had a Compaq that worked great with no viruses until my mother spilled water on it. Then I got another Compaq which had problems right after I purchased it and the OS was horrible. But I attributed it to Compaq being bought out by HP because it was more hardware problems than software problems. Soooo with all that said, I have been happier with my Mac then with my PC. I like the OS, I like that everything seems to run smoother on my Mac.

Next commercial - at the Ad agency where they are putting together the MS Commercials:

"I'm a Mac, and I'm working on the Microsoft Account"
"I'm a Mac, and I'm working on the next PC Commercial"

Cut to Seinfeld, on an old TV show set - "I'm a Mac, and Bill just fired me..."

A friend of mine is getting an iMac tomorrow - he was a PC... :D

How is this "Phase II"? The first phase made no sense. I feel bad for anyone watching these commercials who actually think they should get a PC. The commercials don't change how PCs function, or get viruses, or etc.

I'm happy with my 4 year-old PowerPC G4 over any new vista notebook or computer.

Yep, these are good ideas for the next Mac ads, and could represent the final nails in MS's coffin...apart from the racist Seinfeld, who could stay away from any Mac marketing effort and just enjoy the easy 10 million he got from Microsoft.

Didn't Apple already respond to these commercials back in 2006?

One only needs to look at the "Get a Mac" ad from 2006 called "Touche". When the character that plays PC says "I'm a PC", Mac responds by saying "I'm a PC too"

Someone posted a video where they edited the Touche ad to Microsoft's ad, its on YouTube somewhere.

It is very clear cut if you look at sales and attach-rates. But you're right, it's not entirely bad, there are like 4 good PS3 games. :)

PSN is getting better but still light years away from Xbox Live, and with all the new announcements (streaming Netflix movies, picture sharing and movie watching with your online friends, 100 player online games, etc.) the gap is just getting wider.

Blue-Ray is really irrelevant to the conversation, as it doesn't bring anything to the table that a standalone player can't, and all it did was make the whole thing initially cost $600 which basically ruined any chance Sony had of winning the console battle. Hence the sacking of the president of Sony's video game division.

Odd that you quoted the Apple part of my post and replied with Sony stuff though. :)

Most of the games are cross platforms anyway except maybe 5% of the games. And I did buy PS3 for the Blu Ray. And games like MGS4 is taking up full 50GB of disk space. If this game would have been released in XBOX360, it would have 11 DVD disk...

Pretty good ad IMO. Lots of people knock it because it's microsoft, but if you look at it as if you've never seen what windows is like before, it is a nice ad to watch. A lot better than some of the other adverts on tv anyway.

LOL sorry but you're completely off, it's waaay more than 5%. Enjoy MGS4, since it's one of the 3 worthwhile games for PS3. The 50GB thing is all hype. MGS4 is no better than Halo 3 or Gears of War. I'll enjoy my twice as large collection of games, Netflix movies, amazing Xbox Live experience, 100+ person online games, media center, etc.

That's not a bad thing. Macs run Windows, MS sells Windows. The ad is not about the Mac or about people not buying Macs.

Apple's ads don't change how Macs have more security holes than any modern operating system, get kernel panics, and have hardware incompatibilities. Um... so?

The ads' purpose is not to make people go and buy a PC. They are branding ads.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at Apple HQ to see Steve Jobs' reaction. Did he

1. Jump for joy that Microsoft's ad might backfire
2. Brush it off as if he didn't see it
3. Dive into a tirade of anger
4. Fire anyone

So what's with "this is my office?" Certainly the word "office" can relate to Microsoft office, but there wasn't a computer in sight. So if you work in the a cow field, the arctic, in a shark tank, in space, or graffiti-ing an inner-city wall you should buy a PC for the times that you're not in our office?

Then with "I am not alone" I thought it was fitting that it ends with a big bully wrestling some little guy to the ground. Makes Microsoft look like a bully.

So what's Apple's response going to be. I can't wait.

All these people obviously use PCs as part of their lives. At home, at work, at their second or third "office..." That doesn't mean it's with them 24/7. What does that have to do with anything?

So anybody who practices the sport of wrestling is "a big bully?" Now you're reaching.

LOL!!!!!!!! The final nail in MS's coffin! Because they made a record-smashing 50+ BILLION dollars this year, and keep breaking revenue records almost every single quarter! Because they sold more copies of Vista in 3 months than Apple has sold Macs in its history! I feel so bad for MS, let's all have a moment of silence. :(

Microsoft should really put that $300 million to improving its failed Vista, that's what people want, not some lame ads.

Thats exactly how I feel.. The commercials aren't bad at all, but I'm still not buying Vista! It's not about hating Microsoft or PCs, it's about their products. The fact is that Windows Vista was poorly conceived and executed, as is Windows Mobile. They should be spending their time and effort improving the software, and not trying to change the public's perception of that software.

Windows Vista is pretty good when it works, and SP1 actually makes it a great OS. The problem was with all the device manufacturers being so slow to release drivers. I don't think MS could change that even with $300M.

I like Vista, the ONLY downside to it is that it does use alot of system resources but you can buy a laptop with specs to run it smoothly now at cheap prices! About £500 in the UK.
