You know what? I think I might be just confusing the natural characteristics of LCDs with light bleed together with being close to the screen. It gets better if I move my head around too.

I think so too, so unless the yellowing is noticeable, I'd say your's is a keeper:)

it doesn't look like bleeding to me. Bleeding usually is more like this:http://www.selikoff.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/IMG_1903.jpg

Do you have any pictures of the "yellowing"

This is the yellowing, I can't really see much myself but my wife says it is there and was telling me to get it swapped.

honestly, i think it your's does look quite yellow, but i'm not sure anyone would notice it without these tests. My first one had a memory slot fault, but Apple let me keep it while they shipped me a new one. So you could just enjoy the machine while you wait for a replacement iMac, and take a TimeMachine backup when a new one arrives, and be up and running again in a few minutes.

My new 27 iMac appears to have a yellowish tint towards the bottom of the display. Some pictures included, would like a second opinion. Thanks.

Yeah it doesn't look uniform. Especially on the bottom right

Is this screen ok? Just wanted a second opinion...thanks.

Added a second screen shot.

Mennie...looks like you have a bum display. Some yellowing in the pic.

Thank you. I know about some yellow but...

In my country, no official Apple store but just only reseller so the policy about this case I can only send to replace/fix once. I worry about if I exchange or fix it will be get worse than my current iMAC.

So the question is should I keep it... or mine is unacceptable and need to bet with only 1 time replace.

This is terrible! I'm kidding. Screen shot wouldn't tell you anything, try a camera shot.

Well, people keep posting pictures, but like it was told before, if yellow thing doesn't bother you, keep your lovely imac. From some angles yes you could notice yellow tint, but that technological border rather defect.

You know I also start notice some colour deviation at 40% brightness level.

Then I took picture with 100% level in the dark room, camera directly opposite center of the screen:

Am I mad? Might be.

It looks pretty good to me odvan, you are probably just "loosing it" because of all these horrible yellow pictures. Sometimes theres a big difference in the warm and coolness of a display, you could try and calibrate a color profile with a more cool color setting. I personally like cooler colors over warm. My testing of my screen is using the screen's native factory calibration settings though. But for everyday use i use white 7500k in the profile.

Looks pretty good from the small pic, if the pic was bigger I'd be able to see it better. It looks like some very faint yellow, but I would keep it. There are ones out there a lot worse!

And thanks to those who looked at my pic.

How does it work with the courier? They deliver the new one and take the old one away?

Also do you need to pack up the keyboard and mouse too?

UPS delivered my new one, and TNT called me to make an appointment for pickup of the first one. Apple does everything, you just specify when they pick it up when they call.

Time machine got be back where i left off in 10 minutes after arrival of number 2.

Yes keyboard and mouse too, they ship you a complete reorder based on the original.

To be honest I refuse to check for this "yellowing".

I do not see anything wrong with my screen after several weeks of use and unlike what I did with my iPad 2 (bleed), I'm not going looking for something that does not affect my daily use.

I am thinking along those lines too. The problem with threads like these is that you end up obsessing over these small defects to the detriment of enjoying the machine. I know each situation is different especially for graphics guys who depend on accuracy or those who have the issue particularly badly.

I couldn't really tell the yellowing on my own and am just thinking I should enjoy it and carry on. The idea of going through all the trouble of arranging a replacement which might be worse, having to wait in for couriers etc fills me with dread.

I have an ipad2 with light leakage but to be honest it has never bothered me, I just don't notice it in 99% of usage so I left it. I think personally for me a similar course of action for my imac would be wise.

Hi guys,

I really don't want to turn this thread to a "rate the picture" thing, but after reading all the posts multiple times I'm afraid I haven't got an objective eye on my situation anymore.

Today my 27" just arrived and obviously one of the first things I did after setup was to check the screen. As I said, I myself can't decide anymore wether or not I have been affected by the problem, but I seem to have some yellowing on the bottom and especially in a vertical area on the screen, slightly left to the middle.

Any possibility of getting some feedback from you guys?

Thanks a lot!

Hi JerGuill,

I cant se anything wrong with yours! Congratulations, relax, and enjoy it :)

I agree with Sodner and mankymanning, that people shouldn't rush to test their screens and end up being obsessed with it . However i for one cant' accept anything less than perfect when spending this kind of money (3400 USD in Denmark with only 4gb, my 16gb memory is kingston...not Apple) It's a ridiculous issue that shouldn't even exist on a product like this, and i'm sure Apple knows this problem is widespread, it's just that most people wont notice it unless they look for it, Apple should catch most of these in their QC and fix them.

I've spent a large amount of time checking mine, and looking from different angles, and have come to the conclusion that my own screen is perfectly fine. Now i will try and relax, and enjoy my wonderful machine and stop looking for faults in it.

I know it's alright, I've already posted a picture couple of days ago.

But if I want yellow tint - I will take picture opposite top of the screen and very close and at the bottom light "tint" will appear. But that LCD screens limitations, the image won't be the same from different angles and length.

I want to say people shouldn't be obsessed with their screens. Most of them are perfectly alright.

Thanks for the feedback! I know I shouldn't have been too focused on it, but after all you pay a lot of money for a quality product, as has already been said multiple times, so you kind of want to make sure everything is allright.

Anyhow I wish you a lot of fun with your machine, I'll make sure I do the same.
