And we know he's right since you can still order many of the iPhone 8 variants right now and get it shipped on release date. iPhone X pre-ordering is going to be INSANE.

At least it seems they've made the process easier for people who are already a part of the Apple iPhone Upgrade program. You can even get pre-approved for the new loan and choose your color and model before the phone is available for pre-order, so that way, when orders open, it's a few less steps to do.

I want a gold. I don't love the rose gold (currently have the rose gold 7) but I love the new gold and like the old gold. I've never liked silver.
I can't decide between updating to the 8+ or the X. I like the smaller size of the 7 but do want a bigger screen for watching video. I'm used to being able to have the phone in my pocket. If I take my case off, I can even carry the phone in my wallet/wristlet purse. The iPhone 8+ is too big to be honest but comes with wanted upgrades (fast charging, wireless charging, better camera than my 7) and seems maybe more fine tuned than the X. I usually want the latest & greatest, but unclear if the X is just the latest rather than greatest.

The right way to say: iPhone Eggs :p

Years into the making, and Timmy still couldn't secure a successful launch. I wouldn't expect anything less from the guy who was brought in to Apple by SJ for his expertise in operations.

What would you have done to make the launch, as you characterize it, successful? Genuinely curious.

I am wondering if the X series will be a two year cycle update while the regular series (8,9 etc) will be yearly.

Yep I have no confidence in him. Apple could be so much more.

This happens. Every release. Why are we even surprised.

Pretty much this. Every year. It'll be a madhouse come preorder time and some people will get them and others will be annoyed. I'm wondering if I will break my perfect ordering streak with this one, really.

I always get mine on launch day, but this could indeed change.

I hope not, but it could.

I'm so set on getting an iPhone X at launch that I actually practiced placing preorders this morning so that I could be really fast at it next month. Yeah, I'm a loser, but I'm a loser with a system and have never missed a preorder launch day window for the iPhone. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is white or black? I'm thinking white will have lower preorders, which could increase my odds, and it's kind of a unique look with the black front, white back, and chrome band which harkens back to the original iPhone. This is the first time that I could go either way, because honestly I prefer the black front and everything else is secondary.

I think I'll go with the black one even though the white looks better naked. With a slim black case, the look of the black one will be way more seamless than any case with the silver/white.

You should check the specs.

I was a little bugged at Apple for the price too. BUT, it's not $300 more. It is the next step from the Plus sized phone. So, if you were getting a 5.5" phone, and you want the 5.8", it's actually $200 more. I still think Apple are greedy as hell, but for the device that you use more times per day than any other device in your entire world, $200 more isn't THAT bad. IMHO.

All that said, I have no motivation to depart from my 6SP.

When I picture Ming-Chi Kuo, I picture a guy who sits at home in shorts and a t-shirt with a computer and a phone collecting bits of information from various sources, adding some of his own thoughts, and then feeding it to all these Apple sites. Seems like a pretty easy job and he's probably making a really good living. Lucky bastard! ;)
