The main issue is after activating iPhone 12, we are missing chunks of green bubble group messages.Just to clarify, are people missing all incoming SMS(non iMessage) or just intermittently? And otherwise getting other incoming calls? And are people not able to send outgoing SMS(non iMessage)?
I did have an issue when I first activated my phone that is partially activated. I was able to get all incoming calls and texts, but outgoing nothing. Called Verizon and they just had to finish my activation and since then no issues. I moved from Tmobile to verizon, and bought 2 iPhones 12s. Only one had this issue, the other worked perfectly from the get go.
There's also the Message+ app from Verizon for iOS.Unfortunately 14.2 didn't help....missing a message in a group. I am monitoring by using Verizon Messages in a web browser.
Cant get it to work....I get the QR code and if I scan it I get an error message, invalid QR codeThere's also the Message+ app from Verizon for iOS.
Just an update...spent an hour on the phone with Apple Senior Advisor, uploading logs. He is sending to engineering and we have another follow up next week. Keep calling!Apple senior advisor called me back yesterday to say they received the trouble ticket and now the Apple engineers can contact Verizon. We have another follow up tomorrow afternoon and he said he may need to collect some more logs from my phone.
Last night, I was with a group of friends, all with android phones, all on Verizon, and we decided to send group messages to see how long it would take before my iphone 12 pro would fail. The first several messages from the group alerted on my phone. Then all of a sudden, I was getting no message alerts. Everyone else was getting the messages. I waited a few minutes, still nothing. Then I opened the message app, went to the group conversation, and within seconds, all those messages came in rapid fire and appeared on my phone. So I dont believe its the carrier, but the iphone itself. When in sleep mode, sometimes messages dont alert, and if they do come through at all, they appear in rapid fire after opening the message app. Thats an ios issue. This is all on Apple.
BTW, this is not just a Verizon issue. Its occurring on other carriers. Apple is getting worse and worse with it products and software. They are becoming a 2nd rate company.
Thanks for suggesting that. I had forgot all about that app. I downloaded it on my phone, and will see how it goes. Hopefully that solves the issue. There's also the Message+ app from Verizon for iOS.
I would think being on WiFi would take precedence over any cell signal, no?Just wondering if anyone sees "outgoing" on top of a green bubble group conversation when you are having messaging issues? Here are the facts that I have gathered so far:
- When I am out of the house in a strong 5G signal, I dont see "outgoing" and I dont have messaging issues.
- When I get home and go in my basement, where I have 2 bars of signal and wifi on, I occasionally see the "outgoing" header where the # of people usually are. I never see this when I am out of the house on a strong 5G signal.
- It is at home when I am missing messages. Although I have to admit it has worked better over the last few days.
- I am wondering if the issue has to do with some kind of wifi/5G switching issue? Or a weaker 5G signal having an issue? See below for the "outgoing" header.

Yes but in the case of SMS or MMS those are not going over WiFi they go over the cell network I believe. Its not like i have a bad signal at home. Just not 4 bars down in my basement. Trying to connect the dots lol.I would think being on WiFi would take precedence over any cell signal, no?
I had the "outgoing" issue on my 12 Pro and 12. I changed from At&t consumer to FirstNet (no 5g yet) and I no longer have issues with texting or the "outgoing" message.Just wondering if anyone sees "outgoing" on top of a green bubble group conversation when you are having messaging issues? What’s the carrier version you’ve got now? My carrier version is AT&T 44.0, and I’m on iOS 14.2 (18B92).I was having this problem on iPhone 12 Pro with ATT. I seldom have group texts, but I was not receiving texts with codes from websites that I needed to log into (Social Security for one). Texted with Apple and got nowhere, called ATT and they pushed a carrier update and had me reset phone and it seemed to cure it.
