Oh yeah, because it's Republicans that don't try to prevent gays from marrying, or limit your right to an abortion, correct?

Oh, no, wait, that's not right.

---

GOP never ceases to amuse me. "We want small government, less government intervention, less presence in people's lives... but we don't want you getting an abortion. No, it's against our religion, so that would be bad. And no gay marriage either, it makes us queasy. But yeah, less government intervention is goooood...."

THIS ^^^ +100000000

I was watching NFL network the other night, and during a commercial I was clicking around. I caught Fox News "Hannity". They were talking about all this, and within 3 minutes of watching, I wanted to throw the TV out the window.

Can't agree more though; for a group who wants less government and control, they sure don't practice what they preach [see what I did there]...:D

You mean like basically taking over an entire state and massively influencing many of the surrounding states? You mean like sending people to congress and the Senate from Utah, and other states nearby, who do the prophet's bidding?

If they were doing the prophet's bidding, Harry Reid and Orrin Hatch wouldn't argue so much, because they'd be on the same page. Show me one shred of evidence that the Mormons influence politics any more than any other religious group. For that matter, show me that they influence politics more than any other ideological group. You need to get over your conspiracy theories until you can show evidence.

After reading some of the illiterate, unthinking, unintelligent, unintelligible, uninformed, moronic, confused and just downright stupid posts in this thread, it is pretty apparent that this country (U.S.) is doomed no matter who wins the Presidential election.

The collective wisdom of the U.S. population has been on the long road of decline for a good 50 years or so. I leave to the reader the task of determining some of the reasons behind this.

I've got my own ideas...

Citation for this, please. And a credible (read: nonslanted) source.

For what? YOU provided the link for the facts, I just quoted & opined upon them.

Oh, the "allowed firearms in parks" item I mentioned? It is part of the "Signed credit card bill of rights" item in the link you provided. Oh, you didn't read the bill he signed into law? Yes, it really is; funny, that factoid was omitted from the list.

Promise to cut the deficit? a much-repeated high-profile soundbite from when he ran the first time.
Promise to cut unemployment? he promised that passing his "stimulus package" would reduce it to such levels, noting that if it wasn't passed unemployment would rise to 8% (notice that, having been passed, it reached 10%).

Seems you need to do some research and get yourself educated.
I read the bills. I'm not going to hand them to you if you won't.

Oh yeah, because it's Republicans that don't try to prevent gays from marrying, or limit your right to an abortion, correct?

That darn "abortion clause" in the constitution gets in the way of everything. Oh wait...

You're right. Us civilized citizens are entitled to everything we should want or need. That's what our government is for! It makes no difference if there are not enough resources to provide, we're entitled because we're civilized!

Funny, even some of the worlds most impoverished nations can get full healthcare for anyone in their borders, citizen or not.

The wealthiest nation the world has ever seen can't figure something out?

one thing is for sure

So 8 years of Bush tanks our economy, and you blame Obama for the results of the previous 8 years?

What are you reading, the fox news talking points?

40 plus months of skyrocketing unemployment but...

NOTHING

IS

EVER

OBAMA'S

FAULT

And the "transformation" of America continues.

Based on your signature, I think you should throw yourself in that group.

Right, it's illegal right now (well at least it was before the government messed with it), so don't mess with it. There were gay people when the constitution was written. Why didn't they write it in then?

You want to be gay? fine, but don't taint the definition of marriage.

You want to murder a baby? Well that's not okay, don't have sex if you aren't willing to accept the risks.

I don't like Obamacare for many reasons, mainly that we are in the 21st century and don't even have the option of single payer HC.

As for immigrants, it would be wonderful to live in a country that takes care of human beings whom are hurt.

I want to live in a country where people are people and aren't unworthy of being treated as such because of where they were born. I care about HUMAN BEINGS, not nationality. If you come back with the "but we're paying for it!" argument I agree, we should have single payer that allows HUMANS to get treatments whenever needed, no questions asked.

You know, civilization?

For those that watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, it was proof positive that 1) socialized medicine can be very popular (9 minute NHS tribute) 2) you can have single payer healthcare and it does not mean the end of capitalism or freedom. (England clearly has free elections, private enterprise and as the LIBOR scandal has pointed out, a banking industry just as corrupt as ours.)

You might be able to have the country you want if you can somehow get it through the thick heads of us Americans there are 27 countries that have better and cheaper healthcare systems than we do and their people and companies are not in shackles. In fact companies in these countries enjoy a competitive advantage because they do not have the burden of providing healthcare.

I guess you "transformed" the definition of skyrocketing. The numbers aren't great but unemployment has been slowly going DOWN.

How in the **** is that skyrocketing?

The rate at which it hit 10% (much higher for particular groups) is.
Skyrockets eventually burn out, peak, and come crashing down.
If the rate were over 8% for 3.5 years under a Republican, you'd be using the same term.
And the best you have on the pedantic rant is "slowly" - while still avoiding the point: funny, it's never his fault.

Steve Jobs didn't have Woz and a team and funding and Mike Markkula, and the city of Cupertino to build roads to lead up to the Apple campus? Did Apple set up all of its utilities to run Apple HQ all on its own? No.

Any more out -of-context biased political nonsense you want to throw out there? Because there is a video of Romney stating to the Olympic athletes that they didn't get there on their own either, that they had help!

You are so missing the point. Every month I have to make $98,000 in payroll. Do you know what happens if i dont? In Illinois I go to jail.

So guess what, I have a revolving mortgage against my house, so if some client decides to hold back a month, i can make payroll.

Obama doesn't get it.

This is not out of context. This is from a man that never worked a real job, never ran a company. He is out of touch with small business.

And he actually said it!

and BTW when was the last time Obama met with his jobs panel?

You mean "a social union or legal contract between people called spouses that creates kinship"? Nope, I have no problems with that definition.

You want to murder a baby? Well that's not okay, don't have sex if you aren't willing to accept the risks.

How about you try raising a baby as a single 15-year-old broke-ass high school mother and get back to me on that.

well just judging a book by its cover here on the two apps:

Mitt's is not designed well from the start...the Icon is horrible, uses tiny lines that will be non-existant on some phones and the 2 screens shown on the App Shopper are horrible in design.

Obama's App is well designed, easy to see the Icon and the internal is clearly designed by someone with either mobile experience or a theme that made it work in a responsive manner.

However, if anyone wants any clear information from either candidate, these are NOT the ways to do it as these will be clearly slanted in the direction according to the nominee.

and pretty sure not even worth bringing up comments about which side is better, this is like a Mac vs PC debate on here...leads nobody to change his/her mind. but, carry on.

If you listen to the far right, you'll hear "Socialized Medicine doesn't work. If you go to Canada, you'll wait 8 hours in the ER, and months to get in to see a Dr. That's why they all come to the U.S. for healthcare".

It's comical...

That 15 year old shouldn't be having sex. It's her fault. It's her parents fault. Live with the consequences. Put it up for adoption. Don't take a life.

You are missing the point... How can a 15 year old avoid being a broke high school mother? DON'T HAVE SEX AT 15 YEARS OLD.

I almost got into a shouting match with an uncle at a funeral (after party) with this exact scenario. Seems everyone "knows a guy" who has had to sit for weeks waiting for a life or death surgery (how is it life or death if hes alive weeks later?).

What I don't understand is people seem to think that UHC has to be an exact replica of country X or Y, why the hell can't anyone seem to realize that you should take the good and don't adopt the bad.

This would be a new system in a country that doesn't have any experience with it, why the **** would we adopt the problematic aspects of UHC instead of finding a way to make it work?

It's like no one wants to think about new answers anymore, just carbon copy existing models. WHY!<?RF<flkhaskludfhgfjklsh dsf/;,dfmvfjksl

No, but he paid his fair share of taxes to get the basic necessities in life like a freakin road.

But it's not his road. It's a communial road that everyone is allowed to use, although he helped to "build" it. But simply because he helped build it does not mean he built it alone. He "built" it with the help of his fellow neighbors.

Which is what the Obama quote says. You didn't get anywhere alone, you had help.

Rape?

God knows that never happens, anywhere, ever.

Not an Obama hater, I just think he is a useless President. I am against government healthcare, mainly because it forces everyone to purchase Obamacare and not a HC provider of there choosing.

Wow, this is what happens when you have a generation of wikipedia graduates. I'm glad to see you have trouble reading, or chose to make an argument with no actual frame of reference, otherwise youd know that your your allowed to buy any HC package you want, so NO your full of ****. The Affordable Care Act requires you buy insurance from whoever you want otherwise your given a penalty for free loading and causing everyone elses premiums to sky rocket. Only those who CAN afford it but choose not to are given a penalty/fine. Its goal is to enter younger generations in the insurance pool who are healthy and low risk to help off set the rising costs from the current 70-80 yr olds and as well as the baby boomer generation currently retiring. that no president has bothered to tackle for the last 30yrs except for are current president.

George W. was a decent but not even close to the worst. No one likes him because of 9/11 buut if you were to put any person in that position who knows how they would react at that given time. Some would kill all Arabs foreign and domestic, others might just cry and act as if it never happened, who knows. He made a good decision and I respect him for that. Give me something he didn't do right...

Again if you paid any attention to anything you would see that the reason were doing as bad as we are is because of Bush's 2 unfunded wars, unfunded Medicare partD, doing nothing to mitigate the housing bubble, 7 years of unfunded tax breaks. Thats a recipe for disaster if you have nothing coming in and are planning to pad the middle class to spend there way out of it. Giving tax incentives to outsource US jobs to 3rd world countries. Quadrupling the price of gas from the wars he premptively started. Devaluing the dollar by 25% He pretty much writes his own book for Worst US President ever since Hoover, see both had similar outcomes after there time in office.

Now Clinton I think is probably one of the worst, mainly because he tried selling secret F-16 codes / blueprints to China and Russia to help bring down our debt. He made a mockery of the office and his family and should have just been put out of his misery. Although I commend him for bringing down the Nation's debt and supplying jobs to all, along with building minority communities, thats awesome, just made a lot of mistakes along the way.
He's pretty much the greatest US President of our time and any time, America was in its best shape ever.

Clinton wasn't Republican... So last 2. Obama promised decreased taxes on low income and mid-income families and to tax higher income individuals. Well that has happened and actually he has increased taxes on lower income families.

Do your brain a favor and read an hour a day, so when you comment on something you dont understand you dont sound so under educated or clueless, We are still cureently operating under the same Tax brackets as we have had since 2003, the bush tax cuts, there all still there doing what they do, raising the debt and not bringing in more revenue. No increase, no decrease, the SAME.
So again your full of **** thinking that taxes have gone up when the are the same they have been since 2003, please read instead of glance. Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2 have all had economic recessions during there tenure. Under Clinton we had a surplus of money.

You speak of first term as if he is getting a 2nd. If he does, we're all doomed. Hate to say it but I'm not an elderly white male =(, maybe 40 more years.
Actually history shows that republican presidency has only brought pre emptive wars, income desparity and poverty in abundance. Have fun living on $6.50/hr for the rest of your life.

But as Donald Trump stated "foreigners to a better job and they're so damn cheap!".

Donald Trump is the epitome of American greed and stupidity, he runs his businesses into the ground and milks the bankruptcy process, he also makes his money licensing his name to developers to make it look as if he owns the properties with his name on it, he doesn't. He also isnt the original owner of his hair plugs.

Let the hyperbole begin.... oh... continue!

It's very interesting to see posts that demonstrate critical thinking. It seems to be a lost art in these times of commercialism, soundbites, spin, etc.

If you formulate your opinion from a headline... please try a little harder and dig a little deeper.

Not sure I want to reveal my opinions here though!
