I don't know if I would call it a collapse... they didn't have the best record, that was held by the team that beat them.

I don't think it will cost anybody a job at this point. They like Boone as the manager, but then again, we are talking about big George here.
Big George has been dead for 10 years now. Little Hal doesn’t operate like his father.

Correct, but I still get the feeling after watching them, his way of doing things is still present. Not exactly, but he is still there.

Really? coincidentally they were just talking about this on sports radio this morning... and the consensus was that he did things completely different from the late Steinberner.... Senior had absolutely no patience and would fire coaches, trade players on a whim.... While junior seems to be a lot more patient and gives things time to play out. I don't follow baseball as closely as I used to but I found myself nodding and agreeing with this sentiment.

Ok then... I stand corrected. For some reason I was reading that wasn't the case, now not to the degree Big George was. But I stand corrected in my statement then.

Hal let’s the front office have more control. George would make big decisions on his own.

Juan Soto had himself a ballgame last night. That 400+ foot opposite field shot up onto the train tracks looked way too easy for him. The kid is still only 20 years old. He is going to be some force to reckon with in this game for years to come.

Joe Girardi reportedly going to be the Phillies next manager.

Do you think Girardi really wanted the Cubs job? He interviewed, one time. Espada got a second interview before they settled on David Ross. Ryne Sandberg was stiffed by the Cubs as a manager, and also went to Philly.

I think Girardi wanted either Cubs or Mets.

Houston must be talking to themselves after last night's defeat. They have dug a deep hole with the series moving to DC. Go Nationals.
