it's truly amazing to see such a dominant pitcher have so many collapses in the post season.

Wow, i'm shocked at the dodgers early exit from the play offs. I pegged them and the yankees to be in the world series. They were a team on a mission but were beaten by a Harper-less Nationals team

Always happy to see the Dodgers lose in the postseason. However, I do feel a bit bad for Kershaw: great pitcher and class individual.

Indeed, you seriously have to question Dave Roberts' handling of the bullpen. He had the rest of his pen rested and ready to go (not that they were an overall dominant unit, but still: they were pitchers who are far more used to that particular role), so why he turned to Kershaw at that point in the game is baffling.

Speaking of bullpen management in the postseason, I forgot to type up a Bruce Bochy appreciation post upon the occasion of his final game in the dugout for the Giants. In 40 years of following this game, I have never seen a manager get the pitching selection right so often when it mattered the most. He was truly the master at that, and it helped him win three World Series trophies. We were so very lucky to have him in San Francisco. Godspeed, Boch: see you in Cooperstown.

How do you think Harper feels that the team is better without him and he is home on his couch.

As a Cubs fan, I will never forget that. I'm not so sure we needed Chapman to get to the WS. He wasn't a positive factor in Game 7. Mike Montgomery got the last out.

As a Red Sox fan, I love reading the NYYankees subreddit. Those fans are soooooooooooooo salty. Even before last nights' game, they were basically all throwing in the towel and talking about firing Boone and 75% of the team. It's also gives me great pleasure how often the fans in there bring up 2004 and the Red Sox. It's not even relevant, but it's still in their minds.

No one likes the Yankees, not even the Yankees.

Wow what a collapse by the Yankees, like the Dodgers they were picked to go all the way.

It couldn't have happened to a better team :D

I wonder if this will cost the jobs of the manager or GM?

I always root against the Yankees (I'm a Tigers Fan), but this year I kind of wouldn't had mind seeing the Yankees in the WS. The one thing I take away from last night's game is the silly grin Chapman had on his face after Altuve hit the walk-off hr off of him. Most pitchers when that happens to them either just stare in disbelief or bend down putting their hands on their knees.

I was really hoping the Yankees could pull the win last night to force a game 7 but knew that wasnt going to happen when Chapman was throwing all over the place. Good series for the Astros... WS could go either way and should be entertaining alas well.

Cashman built up a winner for the next decade. Plus ownership loves Boone and he is a contender for manager of the year.

I don't know if I would call it a collapse... they didn't have the best record, that was held by the team that beat them.

I don't think it will cost anybody a job at this point. They like Boone as the manager, but then again, we are talking about big George here.
