The Yankees have scored 9 or more runs in five of their first eight games! I went on baseball reference to see the last time they did that, and the answer is never!

This lineup is good.

Really pleased to see the Giants getting back to their winning brand: good pitching, good defense, timely hitting, and generally smart, fundamental baseball. The difference in attitude and application between the Buster Posey and Farhan Zaidi regimes is night and day.

12. Look, strikeouts come with the territory. If he hits for power and ends the season batting well over .300 like he did last season, I’ll be happy. Hey, Soto won’t have to compete with him for MVP this time!
And he'll have over 35 HRs to boot... so... yeah.

I'd take that as well.

Another happy fan here. My Cubs rebounded from the losses in Japan, and have beaten some good teams since the season really started. The Cubs have the most difficult month in all of MLB in April, based on last years wins/losses. So far, so good. And, coming up next month: the easiest schedule of the year for any team.

I'm inadvertently in a running squabble with a redditor GIANTS fan about the merits of having signed Verlander. I'm "con" by the way... he is not and he's mad at me for my tone and my opinion. 🙄

Giants avoided the sweep, stayed within distance of LA and San Diego, and gained a little momentum going into New York for the weekend. All in all it could have been worse.

I got to watch this one. I fell asleep after the first inning, woke up and Verlander had set the house on fire. lol

Fun one to watch!

YAZ!!
