Was glad to see the Dodgers get a little humble pie the other night versus the Cubs... :)
Me too! Being in the Midwest, the game was on too late for me to watch, and I only ran the condensed recording on MLB.tv the next day. Even after Pages robbed Busch of a potential grand slam, or at least a bases-clearing 3-run extra base hit in the 3rd, they poured it on in the last 4 innings. That 16-0 score is the worst home shutout in Dodgers history. And making it even sweeter, the Cubs had enough hits left in their bats to win on Sunday and take the series. Even though the last two innings the Cubs only faced the mime of the Dodgers pitching staff by Rojas, including the first major league hit for Gage Workman, it was still a feat to take down the presumptive repeat champs of baseball.

There is a New York baseball player that wears #22 who is batting .300, has a .417 OBP and a 1.097 OPS. It isn’t who you think it is. It’s Ben Rice! 🍚

I know, small sample size. But he was dominant in the minors, especially AAA. Rough rookie season last year. But it seems like he’s made whatever adjustments he needed to. Maybe he’ll Wally Pipp Stanton out of the lineup.

That's good stuff.

And now he's in the bigs where he gets pitches to hit because the rest of their line up. Go Ben!

Judge’s batting average is up to .409. But he strikes out sometimes!
Update: .418 now. Strikeout rate is the lowest of his career, and is below league average.

Obviously it will change throughout the season, but this will be the most obvious player of the month pick ever. Putting up Ted Williams numbers.

Edit: .424 now! I can’t keep up!

Watch out for the Cubs! Taking down the Dodgers by 1 run in two high scoring games shows off the current #1 MLB offense! The Cubs didn't fare as well in the previous 2-game "Home" series at the (premature) start of the season, but they've rallied. Now they need to shore up the bullpen.

Did we win that one?

Verlander farting up the mound this evening...

Also, do you and @Silencio live in the Bay Area still? I'm envious if so...

Yes that was the game the Giants won. Also, Verlander his last time out pitched his best game of the Giants and Walker F-ed it up. In fact, the story this week is the possibility of Camillo Doval reclaiming his closer role.
