My bucket list is to go to Fenway and to Wrigley but only if the Angels are playing those teams lol

Been to both. And both suck compared to the newer ballparks.

But the experience is well worth it. Sat behind a pole at Fenway and in the outfield at Wrigley. Also did one of the rooftop seats across the street. I wish I had gotten to the old Yankee Stadium, but never made it.

Everyone should experience Fenway at least once even though it's lacking compared to newer parks. My favorite seats there are those near the Pesky pole. The ones on the Green Monster weren't there during the years I went to Fenway.

During my time living in STL I meant to make the trip to Chicago to experience Wrigley but never made it.

Another multi-hit game for Judge last night. He has gotten on base 12 times in his last 4 games.

I’m not going to get ahead of myself on him finishing over .400, because there will be some regression (he’s at .414 now). But I will post what he has done his last 162 games-

65 HR
.370 BA
163 RBI

Averaging 1 RBI per game over that stretch is crazy.

I haven't been to Wrigley, yet, but have been to both old and new Yankee stadium and to Fenway. I loved Fenway and old Yankee stadium. New Yankee stadium is just like most of the newer stadiums you are going to go.

I have also been to handful of newer stadiums and the one I liked the most is San Diego's. That park is really good IMHO. I haven't been to Dodger stadium since this last remodel though.

The New Yankee Stadium is a great modern ballpark, but I miss the old one so much. The energy from the crowd was just so much greater, thanks to the higher capacity and being more bowl-shaped. You could literally feel the stadium shake at times from the crowd.

On a somewhat related note, nothing beats MSG for live concerts and sporting events. The floor literally bounces.

So nobody has noticed (or cares enough to note) that Rob Manfred has decided to remove those who are deceased from the "permanently ineligible" list?

That means Pete Rose (like he predicted) and Shoeless Joe Jackson are now eligible for the HoF.

I care and I think i t is b*llsh*t.

Pretty sure it is based on some nonsense a political leader said...

The pro sports door was already cracked open to gambling. Now it's fully ajar. The veterans committee may not admit Rose to HOF the first time, but there's no going back. Once you walk through that door, your foot is on a slippery slope.

Or they are opening the door for a certain player who has already been caught up in a gambling controversary and some might say, because of how popular he is and what he has done, they do not want this to come back and haunt the league when he finally goes up for his chance at the hall.

I suspect the Vets committee will admit Rose, but it would be interesting to what would happen if the vote was given to the membership at large.

It would be amusing to see if the holier-than-thou branch of writers would stick to their stated principles, and deny Rose, or be hypocrites, and admit him. He did after all, break the rules, lie about it, showed no remorse, and was his own worst enemy. Same thing that Bonds, Clemens, etc. of the Steroid Era have done.

Pro Sports, as well as College Sports, have changed tack, and now accept gambling and player payments are a part of the business.

How one feels about applying the current rules retroactively to the past is debatable, but I'm finding it hard to muster the effort for one.

Gambling on your own team is a far, far worse offense than taking steroids IMHO, but baseball has shown it doesn't have much in the way of integrity, especially lately.

I don't care much either way — the Hall of Fame is a very flawed indicator of "greatness".

[Edit] In other news, the Orioles fired their manager, Brandon Hyde. I didn't realize the O's were struggling so much this season. After three good regular seasons and a couple of early postseason exits, I guess it's time for a change.

The Rockies have parted ways with Bud Black as well. He wasn't hitting enough home runs or stealing any bases from his perch in the dugout. Oh wait! The players are supposed to do those things. But, aren't player acquired by the GM?

Rivalry week is underway. Among the most curious match-ups are Seattle vs. San Diego, Colorado vs. Arizona, and Atlanta vs. Boston. Instead of historic rivals like Red Sox/Yankees or Cubs/Cardinals, they're going with geography for the most part, with those notable exceptions. It just doesn't work out for 30 teams. So we get Cubs/White Sox, Yankees/Mets, Angels/Dodgers, Astros/Rangers, Cardinals/Royals, etc.

The season is entering its third month and the Rockies still haven't broken double digits in wins. I wonder if season ticket holders are screaming for refunds yet. What a disaster. I'm curious how a franchise recovers from something like this.

I’ve been to Fenway Park a few times with my dad, I remember walking around inside when there wasn’t a game on, just to take in the atmosphere. It was fun, a real piece of baseball history.
Being from Maine, the Red Sox were my team growing up. I spent some great days and nights at games in that place. Even had a conversation with Stephen King one time in the beer line. It is, like you said, a real piece of baseball history.

The Rockies have wandered into the mystical land of double digit wins. Heady times indeed! Of course, they're still on pace to lose 135 games, so...
