Getting rid of Jordan Hicks' contract is a nice, nice bonus. He's a good pitcher, but only as a reliever. The starting pitcher experiment was a failure.

If Harrison could add a quality secondary pitch and refine his control, he'll be really good. Two big If's. Maybe it helps that the Giants' former pitching coach is in Boston. Guess we'll see.

I know it's early but we're not seeing much of a return on this trade lol ...

C Mooreee 2 Clutch Hr's Vs Boston! did i mention i finally bought it

Playing a game in the field appears to be just the thing to wake up Devers' bat. 2 HR in today's game: this looks like the guy the Giants traded for.

Verlander may win his first game of the season if the bullpen doesn't completely collapse.

I still think we are petting a rattlesnake...

If Devers is a rattlesnake, what animal was Bonds?

Some players just need a change of scenery, and aren't afraid to burn bridges to force one.

Whether Devers pans out or flames out, it was a bold move for an organization that was unsuccessful in trying to sign star players, and had to settle for leftovers and discards.

Is there such thing as a rattlesnake *ssh*le hybrid?

I don't usually give the HoF induction ceremony much notice, but I just checked out Ichiro's speech as I've always appreciated him.

Anyone watch the whole ceremony?

Traded Ty Rogers to the Mets and just got swept by the Pirates to conclude a 6 home game losing streak... meh!
Yeah, my NL team (Cardinals) has finally collapsed under the weight of their inexperienced roster and become sellers, and my AL squad (Red Sox) continue their up-and-down play in hopes of falling into a wild card spot. Not feeling very inspired at the moment either.

Yeah, be he's our A-h, right? That's the basis of a common exemption clause in sports, at least when it comes to fans.

And I'm sure fans of the Warriors in the NBA, just down the road, know that feeling very well.

More work to do in SF. Kept in in the race, and above .500 for much of the season at least.

Honestly, I have no idea about his locker room personality.

He strikes me as being one though.

Just based on his actions with the BoSox.

Hard to say, from outside. He certainly had a beef with management, but might have been ok in the locker room. That's their deal, in Bawston.

But, he's playing 1B in SF, and whether it's truly new leaf, or fleeting attitude is to be seen.

On the fans' part, in general, most seem inclined to overlook boorish or uncouth behavior if the player performs, and delivers. Bonds is a prime example. Draymond Green is a guy you'd probably despise if he wasn't on your team. Both got into physical squabbles with teammates, so not universally liked in their clubhouses either.

Yer right. And I want to be wrong and I apologize because I feel like I've drug you into this conversation before.

I'm venting anyway. I'm just ticked that we got rid of Yaz.

I hope all is well.

I'd Love for him, Devers, to become a potent offensive threat for us. Honestly, imho, it's our ball park and it's locale.

Some of our fans seem to love "triples alley", not me. All that denotes to me is that our park is too big and home runs die out there.
