The Cubs were never that good while he was with them.
Not exactly true. I endured the 1969 season, when the Cubs collapsed at the end, sending the Mets to the WS. But the All-Star game that year featured 3 or 4 Cubs in the starting infield. (I don't remember if Banks was selected, but probably not.) The Cubs dominated the NL for much of the season. That was a very good team.

I didn't say they were never ever any good, just not usually very good. 1953 - 1971 and only 5 winning seasons... so

I'm sure you see my point.

Trout has been incredibly loyal to the Angels (Lord knows why…?), but it seems that half the time his name appears in the news is because he's injured.

Id be upset if he went to the dodgers, wouldnt be upset if he went to Phillys or somewhere else tho, but i get it Dodgers are a top tier team and are trying to win WS while the Angels well Artie needs to sell the team, they are in to big of a market to keep being bottom feeders, even tho this year they are looking decent now an again, 2nd place right now didnt see that coming but July is there month the tend to lose everything we shall see

What say you, Giants fans? Good deal or no?

That depends. How many Hello Kitty jerseys did Boston also receive? ;)

At least give Posey credit for this -- they needed one, so he went out and bought a nice car.

His predecessor would have scoured Craigslist for a cheap, old used car, and hoped that it wouldn't break down after buying it.

Great move by the Giants, as long as Devers isn't dead set on playing 3B on a regular basis with Matt Chapman and his vastly superior glove ensconced there.

The Giants needed more hitting and had a surplus of pitching to deal from. I still have hope for Harrison figuring it out at the big league level, but I don't see him becoming Zack Wheeler 2.0 by this point.

Devers is on a big, long term contract, but he's still fairly young and the market has only gone up for elite hitters since he signed. His bat will play at Oracle — he's got power to all fields.

From what I've heard he only wants to DH... but how long is Chappy out? It was just a week now I'm hearing a month ...

Zack Wheeler - the one that got away.

Getting rid of Jordan Hicks' contract is a nice, nice bonus. He's a good pitcher, but only as a reliever. The starting pitcher experiment was a failure.

If Harrison could add a quality secondary pitch and refine his control, he'll be really good. Two big If's. Maybe it helps that the Giants' former pitching coach is in Boston. Guess we'll see.
