MMS Beta 2 Thread! AT&T only!!!

Let me be clear, I am not saying anyone should use the ipcc file, mms was working fine for me, out of the box with beta 2. I applied it, just to see if it still worked and it did, it unlocks the two settings menus, and mms still works for me, as of a couple minutes ago.

Now, should you choose to use the ipcc file, you can apply it by choosing shift+click (option + click on a mac) browsing to the file (change file type to ipcc in the file browser) and iTunes will install the carrier update for you.

I am not convinced it is necessary for this version of the beta however mms did not start working for me until I applied it on beta 1. Use it at your own risk.

i downloaded the file (on a PC) and then I went into iTunes and shift+click, changed to .ippc and it says it couldnt find anything.

When i downloaded it, it was a compressed foder with many things in it. i.e.
Mac OSX (file) Payload (file). Those two were also folders.

Can anyone help me and explain how I can get this on my phone and which one is the file I need. Thanks a bunch.

This is what happens when you snag it with Safari on OSX. It automatically treats it like a zip file for some reason. All you have to do is compress the folder called payload and then change the file name on it to ATT_US.ipcc
 
i'm not sure if i'm late on this or not, but, i have working MMS.

I am NOT on 3.0, i am on 2.2.1 jailbroken with swirlyMMS. Because of all of these "MMS working!!" threads i decided to just try swirlyMMS. I live in the US, on AT&T, on a family plan with the messaging for family's service (unlimited for all lines.. $30).
I chose the first MMS setting on swirly and it has been working for about 2 days so far.. perfectly! I did NOT have to call AT&T at all to get this to work.. also, the weird part is, before this, my picture messaging wouldn't work at all, i wouldn't get "viewmymessage" text's or anything to acknowledge my phone even tried to get an MMS.

ok i now have the updated file on my phone "Carrier ATT 5.0"
i went into messaging and tried to send a mms to myself and i am still getting the red !.

idk know what to do next? should i restart my phone or am i missing a step?

Put the Sim in the blackberry for a minute and send a few and put it back in the iPhone and it worked. We shall see for how long

Look at the whole thread hunny, everyone talking about this is on 3.0

Everyone knows that swirlyMMS sends MMS pictures if you're on a jailbroken phone. But not all the time, in 3.0 Apple added MMS, but this is just beta, so its not working. But apparently, some people have gotten it to work. Please take a look at the thread dude.

Swirly MMS is very difficult to get working on AT&T though.
I think he only posted to show that AT&T is doing something different with the iphone plans that are allowing MMS to get through.
Since he says that he doesn't call in to get his plan changed.
I know I tried what seemed like 100's of settings for swirly none of which worked.

chicago usa
2 phones 16 and 8 GB both 3G
2 X 200 message plans for iphone
I called and had them remove the mms block
On 16gb one, works perfect with att_us.ipcc
on the 8 gb, works when it wants......
MMs - no voicemail
Voicemail - no MMS.....
so....

That's what i was trying to show. I know this thread is for 3.0 only, but i was just trying to show that i haven't changed anything (by calling AT&T) and my picture messaging worked no problem with swirlymms, leading me to believe that AT&T turned something on on their end.

Yes you did...You Jailbroke your iPhone...thats changin somethin!
 
Holy cow ... I'm on the phone with AT&T (on hold now) trying to get this to work and what a pain in the rear! I wish I had a dime for every time the girl said "Well ma'am, the iPhone doesn't support MMS." If I also had one for each time I said "I know that is the case with iPhones using the current 2.2.1 software, but trust me, it is supported with the 3.0 beta software and that's what I'm using it for," I'd be all set for life. Geez.
 
Mine worked on beta 2 with the 5.0 ipcc until I had to get a new phone yesterday. I couldn't send MMS with the new phone but I popped the sim into a Nokia E51 and successfully sent one to myself and then it worked from the iPhone. It stopped working again. I restored the phone again but kept the 5.0 ipcc. Still didn't work until I switched airplane mode on and then off. I just sent two pics to a Verizon number and a Sprint number and it went through. My buddy on VZW confirmed the pic but I have not heard back form the Sprint user.
 
ok i have the ipcc... i am not getting where i am supposed hit option click?

a little further detail would be much appricitated
 
save your att_us.ipcc file somewhere easy to find , open itunes, option+click on update, and you should be able to locate your file.
 
As mentioned earlier, my MMS quit working earlier today.

Not sure why, but that got me back up and running 100%.

I'm now send and receiving MMS, even from Verizon which I wasn't before.
 
mms still not working. did everything.. i try and send a pic.. it gets held up for litterally like 2 min then it it has the red exclamation mark

what location are u in the USA: DE
what plan are u on? 200 messages (non iphone)
did u restore from a backup? yes
did u edit any files? carrier update on beta 1 didn't work upgraded to beta 2 mms worked.
