Odd...
Logged into .Me - synced everything. Logged out - Logged back in, .Me thought i was synching a new machine. Hmmm...
'A computer named "MacBook - xxxxxxx" is already registered with the MobileMe synchronization server."
"If you use the same name for two different computers you may lose your synchronized information on all registered computers and devices.
You can safely reuse a previously registered name if you are sure it is the only computer now using this name under your MobileMe account."
is it just me or did someone just come through and clean up the thread a bit...
I've been saying for about 2 years that Apple's quality is going into the toilet. Sloppy buggy launches, to say nothing of hardware issues.
I am an Apple person, and I spoke about this because I want Apple to improve their quality. Innovation without quality is not success.
Now this happens. Sadly, this is typical for Apple nowadays.
But it's big, public, and Apple can't hide the repairs in their genius bar.
Yes, I want my mobileme. But honestly, I am glad Apple is getting egg on their face for this.
Now, maybe, just maybe, senior management at Apple will realize what people like myself have known for some time now--Apple has a serious QA problem.
Given that perfectly functioning final 2.0 software for the phone and touch are leaked, out there and working for many many people - the ONLY reason we're not seing them via normal updates via iTunes is this monumental immobile-me transfer fail.
Seriously - would you buy a server and server OS from this company?
Have you ever updated a web application? Have you ever upgraded an application for 10,000 users? Have you ever migrated 100,000 users in LDAP? no? well try doing this for 12,341,043 users oh and do it in 12 hours. Try these things, then come talk trash.
So yes, I would buy a sever and server OS from Apple, and I have.
