You'd think they'd realise that it's probably best now to distract us with something shiny right now.

Bring on 2.0 - I bought apps at this time last night thinking "Apple won't make me wait too long for these to work would they?" - 24 hours+ later.... *tumbleweeds*

The thing that is troubling is that Apple has become too big, too fast and quality control is suffering for it. If they aren't ready to release the 2.0 software update, then that means that they just released too early.

Leopard had more bugs than all other versions of OS X put together (not that it was that many, but it was noticeable).

I'm bothered by it, but it will have to get quite a bit worse before I make the jump to OSS.

hmm that's weird... cause some of my friends told me it's redirecting them to the intro page, too. But I tried it on both FF and IE (PC at my office here) and it both showed the login page... so it can't be sth to do with cache or cookies/session...

Has anyone succeeded in registering for the free trial account this round?

Yes... and I managed to get my firstname.lastname @ me.com - which had always showed up as "already taken" at mac.com (Presumably :apple: didn't carry forward "lapsed" accounts to the me.com domain... or - if they did - something has gone badly wrong...)

At least that gives me *some* kind of reward for persevering with this whole shambolic mess for the last 24 hours...

M$FT is going to have a heyday with this.

On another note... I would be so pissed if I was getting an iPhone tomorrow and MM still isn't up and running. Steve is going to want blood, along with me, and he'll at least get it. This is going to send his ego flying back to the 80's. Would not want to be within 100 miles of infinite loop tonight.

Mine is a free trial too, and I also managed to get an account, which I had previously used on .mac (as a trial). Still no getting in via the web, it says invalid username or password, despite the fact that .mac is logged in on the mac... Still not offered the mobile me update cia software update, either.

Exactly. Just like Vista was M$FT's bad copy of OS X. Mobile Me is :apple:'s bad copy of exchange. But seriously, God save those working in the Mobile Me department from Steve's wrath (although someone needs to get sacked for this). This might actually drive steve to eat meat or something that's not organic.:D

How many of you guys/girls wanna bet that .mac will be back up within 24 hours, and Mobile Me will be delayed, and Steve Jobs will be charged with murder, and all .mac/Mobile Me members will be given a free month of service? Just wondering.

I vote yes to all of these, but Steve will get off by using his reality distortion field at his trial.
