Yey, no more calender server errors, but does anyone know if calender pushes to ical.app, because ical isn't getting updated.

Scratch all of that! EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE, although it is a bit slow.

Me is now pushing everything to my Mac which it didn't do before. I think Steve finally put his foot down and made it work.:D

Then i'll use an Exchange server...
jeez, Exchange for everybody.. yeah right, but you're stuck with a stupid me.com-address. I use my e-mail address for over 10 years so I don't want to change it.. sorry :apple: .
I'd be happy if they had made a tiny extra setting to change the from-address...... that's all...

Well, if you just want to have your e-mail address (whatever it is) appear in the "From" field when you send out e-mails from the web-based mail app, you can easily do that.

Just click the settings icon and change the identity in Mail Preferences. What you need to do is to simply type your e-mail address in "Send mail as" field, which, by the way, comes withe the note by Apple saying "This name will appear in the "From" field in the mail you send."

Admittedly, this is just a "disguise", but it should do the trick (meaning, when someone tries to "reply" to your e-mail, the address you put will appear in the "To" field instead of me.com address.

If this is not what you want, my apologies in advance.

Time zones support in calendar MobileMe doesn't work!!!

Hi there,

I, finally, managed to enter MobileMe right now. Everything worked alright except calendar. It doesn't support my time setting (yes, I entered preferences, and yes turned on time zone support and yes set the time zone to where I actually live).

Very annoying, hope it gets fixed soon, because my meetings are currently all scheduled at "Cupertino" time...

That works when you're sending mail from your Mac or iPhone, but not from the web client. If they'd just add the ability to change the From: field there, we'd be all set.

I'm in the same position as the guy who made the original query about this - I want push mail, but my primary email address is on my own domain, been using it for years and don't want to change it. As MobileMe currently works, I can't switch that address to MMe completely transparently, so it's less than ideal.

Hasn't stopped me signing up for the free trail. though.. :)

Wow...What a bunch of...

...whiner fanboys. I do not remember Apple making specific promises of a MobileMe that worked right at a specific time on Thursday. All of their promises seemed to be more general. I do not remember you all having to pay extra for this service over that of .mac. I don't remember any company that can pull off such a massive internet based software transition of active users. There is no other way under these circumstances but to at some point go live and work out the bugs. Give it time before you find the real items to complain about. There are sure to be a couple. I don't think the up and down of MobileMe during the last few hours will be one of them. My me.com is up and running. I'm certainly not patient, but will just have to wait for Apple to put out 2.0 as a real download and then let me turn on push. I have been using .mac for years and am delighted that Apple is adding significant upgrades to that and my iPhone without charging me. The idea that this is comparable to any Microsoft goof, especially Vista is just plain ridiculous. Any comparison should be that even with a rough around the edges rollout, this will blow away anything they have to offer.

So how do you get e-mail to synk? I have moved some e-mails from the Mail and iPhone to the specific folders and Mail and iPhone are synking but in the MobileMe I can see those files in the Inbox and specific folders....why is that?

Ok, Calender isn't pushing yet, I'm having to do manual syncs. Come on Apple it's almost perfect.

Ibjr- are you using safari 4 preview, because Mobile Me won't work with the Safari 4 Preview, you need to use Safari 3 if your going to use safari.

I agree with you

I remember when the company I used to work, update the main system with a huge experts in IT. It took like a week for a normal performance.
