Cool. Now if we can just get the updater, life will be good!

My iDisk is showing 20GB, too, both on me.com and locally. Yay!

edit: anyone else getting the annoying pop-up video "Getting started with MobileMe?"

There's a box you can check that says "Don't show this message again"

I HAVE installed the MobileME update and it works horribly as of now.

Between iCal and MobileMe's calendar, it's really bad. If you refresh you Calendar page on MobileME, you lose all your preferences that you just set!! What is that?

Isn't it true that if I make any calendar change, either on MobileMe or iCal, either way the other app gets updated within no more than 20 seconds??
Well, it's not working that way at all. Unless I press the friggin Sync button.
That's not Push email working correctly.

You seem to be confused there mate. When Apple says PUSH mail, contacts, etc. they mean you have to PUSH the sync button to get it to work.

Were you expecting it to be automatic? This young generation really feels it needs everything handed to it on a silver platter, sheesh...

I've been able to access me.com consistently for the past 25 minutes, I think it's safe to say it's online, well almost, gallery.me.com/username does not work yet.

Now for some comments on the actual service.

1. I'm happy to be able to report that I can add and edit albums and upload files to the gallery app without having to shell out for t3h evil iLife which I have no intention of resurrecting on my machine after I finally purged the putrid thing. (no I don't like iLife very much, heh) I don't know if they'll show up at gallery.me.com/myusername but I can access any galleries right now.

2. It's easier to manage AppleID information.

3. It's not as fast as I was hoping but this is JavaScript, and we all know how evilly slow JavaScript is unless you're using a build of WebKit with SquirrelFish (I'm using Firefox because beyond pure rendering speed, it destroys Safari in every other area)

are you joking or are you for real? im serious here. does it really mean i have to push the sync button every time?

Zykes

Nothing is really working, no real push in email or anything else. Not getting the upgrade as an option.

Restoring the iphone, why is this happening?

I was 100% joking.
Which just goes to show how much humans need facial and tonal cues for proper text interpretation.
I can't believe anyone would read my message and think I was serious, but obviously they did.

Mobile Me Web is working well for me.

Unfortunately, .iDisk is still unbelievably slow ( via Finder ). Not that I'm surprised.

Indeed, same problem here. Time settings are wrong...

slow for me but working. just not all mails i deleted from my mail app yesterday were deleted in the web app. so i doesn't sync properly yet.

and now the webmail app is stuck in an endless loading cycle not showing anything but "loading" and i can't switch to any other webapp.

also the software update doesn't show a mobileme update so i have still .mac all over my system.

this is NOT ready yet.:(

No push UK

ok I appreciate how difficult all this might be jeez you don't expect Apple to launch and not have it working!!... No push in the UK unless I am missing something

Same problem here.

Additionally, the calender web app does not seem to store my preferences. I changed the beginning of the week to monday three times, but it always changes back to sunday.

Oké, so now we've got Mobile Me up and running. Steve put his foot down.
When are we getting firmware 2.0???

if i move an event up 3 hours in Calendar on the MobileMe site, should the change appear in iCal within 20 seconds all on its own? Because it's NOT!!!

I think it should do, and probably will eventually. For me its taking about 5 mins or so at the moment for this to happen. I'm happy with that as at least it's now working - a bit slow - but working.

This is only due to the overload of the servers. In a few days, it will work as it is expected. The real problem is that the webmail part is not loading for somebody, and a lot of other minor problems...

There's gotta be something else afoot here. It's working flawlessly for me in Safari 3.

I have no idea whats going wrong with safari, you mean if its working with firefox  Everything is up to date and I'm running 10.5.4 on a August 2007 2.8Ghz iMac. Well all I can say to apple is this launch has not been great and I hope you fix it soon :apple: I have tried reseting/reinstalling/deleting catches and nothing works so IF ANYBODY HAS ANY IDEAS OF HOW TO GET SAFARI 3 or 4 TO WORK WITH MOBILE ME PLEASE POST  If it is any help I have installed the mobile me update and did that last night around 8pm AEST (Brisbane, Australia:cool:)

BTW the problem is almost forgot rofl that the buttons in mobile me don't work like the mail, calender ect. the only buttons that do work are the ones within mail.

Now I feel bad for messing with you, so let me be serious and explain:

You *should* expect that, but currently it isn't working. MobileMe is still not 100% functional. In the (hopefully foreseeable) future when MobileMe is 100% operational what you described is exactly what will happen.

All those people claiming it works for them now are talking about the auto-sync with their iPhones, not with their Mac. That part seems to be working.
