This has occasionally happened to me for some time now. A screen shot probably won't help that much. Right now, I'm on page #10, and at the bottom of the page, page #11 is displayed as being the last in the thread, which has a link of https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/519289/. But when I click that link I end up at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/519289/ in my browser. (Hope this explaination makes sense.)

I see this phenomenon quite often. Not only is it occurring on this current thread, it is also evident on the following thread:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/516115/

which claims to have page 78 as the last page, but you can only get to 77.

Hmm...weird! I tried all the suggestions. Going into .Mac pref, log-in and out still no update on my end! Am I the only one get left behind?

Will try again....

why is apple using firefox?

after reading everyones problems i just decided to wait patiently and see. eventually everything seems to be working. i got the update message, it updated. MobileMe now seems to be running fairly quickly and smoothly. i have yet to try it from work - interestingly reading though the threads i've picked up from my dreadful windows machine at work i have to install itunes to get this working or use the internet version - fair enough but this wasn't very clear from the promo stuff apple released. anyway the point of the post is like a good boy i decided to watch the welcome video on my MobileMe homepage. i was quite stunned to find it using firefox. not that i have anything against it but what about safari? presumably this video was recorded sometime ago? did firefox work better than safari? was it snappier? is safari not as good or as compliant as firefox? should i give up on safari and use firefox?
your thoughts please?

There is no updater showing up in my Software Update. Have they pulled the file again?

All's good...

Mail going to my Palm Centro, PC (outlook), and iMail on my mac.
Cloud<>Desktop pushing working good
Published my first website using iWeb http://web.me.com/shervieux

Looks like all is right with the world once again :D

The Future (of MobileMe)

now that i have it working - i am very impressed it seems to have speeded up no end and is quite smooth. ok everyone has been going on about web 2.0 but this is pretty good. i have always previously liked client side apps and avoided web based mail in particular but this seems quite good and particularly at work (where i am stuck in a pc only environment) it will give me the mac buzz i need. i particularly like the access to idisk - i could always previously access it but never did and this seems better somehow. however while i do use office for mac so in theory i could store my docs on the idisk and work on them at both locations - i quite like pages and keynote and iphoto and iweb etc and would like to use them on my pc. now apple is unlikely to release windows versions of these - why bother? but cut down mobileme versions surely arent that far away. image you log on to your windows pc (yuck) you then fire up safari and mobileme and you are effectively at your mac, without having to use back to your mac. upgrade the storage to 100GB+ (eventually it will be included) and you can use the web versions of all your favourite software and keep all your files on your idisk. in fact why would you need them on your mac? why would you need a big hard disk in your mac or laptop? keep it all on the cloud - small ultra fast solid state memory disks for all. (surely a cut down smaller leaner snowleopard fits with this as well???) perhaps client side apps have extra functionality or perhaps they will never go as you need them for when you are on your macbook and out of reach of the cloud? i suppose apple also might not want to loose the income from selling iLife and iWork but it has two options 1.charge extra for mobileme+ which includes iLife and iWork (i would like to copyright MobileLife and MobileWork at this point) or 2. give it free in the hope lots of windows users buy it, love it and switch.
a little off topic - sorry i got carried away when it started working.

There's nothing 'better' about firefox in regards to MobileMe (personal opinions aside) apple was just using firefox to show that it is cross platform/cross browser accessible.

From my usage of the service, Firefox appears to be faster than Safari when accessing Mobile Me - on Windows and Mac OS.

The last minute withdrawal of the iDisk file sharing features (i.e. email links, password protection, time limits, download limits e.t.c.) is disappointing. That was the only thing I was looking forward to. Hopefully we will see them in an update.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but I was reinstalling Tiger on the parent's eMac. Not sure how, but half the files on that hard drive were corrupted.

Anyway, I put the old Tiger disk (10.4.0) in and erased and installed. I ran through the initial set up. Putting my data in, creating a new user account. Then I came on the part where Apple usually offers a free trial for .Mac but in this case, it changed to this:

That's cool. Planning to reinstall Leopard soon, so I'll expect to see the same.

I note that iPhoto's Web Gallery tab in preferences still tells me that I don't have .mac set up; maybe that will change with the next iPhoto update :).

typical

This is very typical of apple. A lot of hype leading to a lot of purchases, then users find themselves lacking basic features that are so common sense that they assumed they would "just work". I purchased a .mac subscription a year ago after my iphone purchase thinking this feature would be included....

What feature are you talking about? you keep saying 'feature' and 'features' yet you never specifically said what you were talking about.

More specific please!

Yeah... What features do you mean exactly?

Hi

I have been a .mac user for 9 years and now that Apple have overhauled the service to .me, I am unable to use any part of the service!! I can't login on me.com and I can't login in the MobileMe system preferences panel! I've sent them an email as there is no phone support, which is amazing considering that this is supposed to be a premium service!

Anyone have any ideas or having the same issues?!

Thanks

P.S. I am running 10.5.4 and I've applied the MobileMe update!

Finally, it's running smoothly. I played with it last night and it was a dog. Totally unusable. It's running great tonight. I feel like I got my money's worth now.

Anyway, if you watch the intro video, they talk about a cool feature on the iDisk where you can share a file. It sends the recipient a link to the file. I don't have that option/button. Is there something I'm missing?

Figured it out. Apple has put the hold on it until they are 100% up and running...
