I had that earlier. When it happened before I got an email with a new post but the post had gone from MR so I assumed it was because a message gets posted then deleted. Could be wrong.

Nope. Still doing it for me here! I've also seen lately from time to time for example MR shows say 10 pages, but the last several pages are just repeats of the previous pages. I suspect a data base issue.

Got the update going into the .Mac system preferences tab. Thanks everyone!

The only oddity so far is the Account Type is individual, but shows all the family sub accounts under Account Details...

My Mail application stopped sending emails as of Thursday. I get a server error message on both my Intel iMac and Powerbook (both running Leopard):

"Cannot send message using the server smtp.mac.com:[my user name]

The server “smtp.mac.com” refused to allow a connection on port 25.

Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be delivered.

Sending from:[my email]"

(btw, there's only one server "in the list below".)

I can send messages from inside Safari and MobileMe.

Does anyone else get this? How to resolve it?

Your ISP might have started blocking outgoing emails from all servers except theirs. This happened to me a couple weeks ago. You need to change your SMTP Server port to 587. (BTW, make sure Use SSL is checked) I noticed after the MobileMe 1.1 Update, some of my mail settings were changed, and I had to go back and fix them.

Unfortunately not, Im running Tiger 10.4.11 and still get everything .Mac, when I do the software update nothing new pops up, in the sys pref i log in and when playing around with the tabs it just says it failed to login at .Mac ( duuuh you nimrods at apple, obviously is not login in cause there's no more .Mac)

Things like this really piss me off, I mean if they wanna swallow the whole jar of chilies in one go fair enough (launching Iphone, mobileMe, 2.0 update, Apple TV, etc, but I would expect them to acknowledge they are choking when things get stuck in their throats and let us know plain and simple:

MobileMe for Tiger not working yet, will release the updates for everyone in such and such timeframe.

F#@#$ers!!

Yes, when I logged out of my .dot Mac / Me account in system prefs and then logged back in I was asked to update. This true of all my macs. I have Tiger and Leopard Macs all now updated. My only remaining strange thing is that my PC shows that it is a "Trial ME Account" even though it is logged in with a full family membership account.

I got the "unauthorized" message yesterday night. Clicking on .Mac preferences didn't do anything (no message to update to MobileMe appeared)

This morning though, after pressing several of the tabs, I finally got the message to update to MobileMe. I'm kind of afraid to, to be honest. This was supposed to be ready on Thursday, and it's Sunday. There is a mixed bag of reports on how well it's doing at any given time.

What Apple ought to have done was release the MobileMe last week, to give them time to work out all the bugs at a time when it wouldn't haven bee under such a tremendous load of people visiting. They could have called it "beta" or "preview" or whatever they wanted.

But I think the reason they didn't do so is: maybe they were worried that glitches in MobileMe would get reported in the media, or spread through the blogosphere, and that would dampen sales of MobileMe (and possibly the iPhone 3G)?

In any case, since I do need my account synced between computers and the web version of MobileMe, I think I have to try downloading the MobileMe update and hope it doesn't screw things up too royally with my sync data. (I've already back up my contacts and iCal, and Time Machined my laptop, so if anything gets corrupted while MobileMe decides how often if at all to "push" my data, I should hopefully be able to restore it)

FInally got the contacts push to work perfect, now just need to wait for the cal to work

Thank you! That was it, your advice solved my issue.

:)

Its a downgrade from .mac, with a slightly prettier face. :)

if i go to mobile me, storage, settings, it shows i have almost 19GB available for iDisk.

but if i go to iDisk on my desktop and do a get-info, it shows a less-than-9GB capacity.

am in misinterpreting something? shouldn't i see 19GB avail on my desktop iDisk? (I downloaded the new software and switched to mobileMe more than 24 hours ago)

No. I have the latest version of Leopard and Safari.

Amazing! After doing the systems dance umpteen times. Moving in and out of presferences for .Mac and even signing off and on I finally got the update to show up.

I suspect Apple is controlling the roll out in some way because of all the problems (he said hopefully), It would have been nice if they gave us a clue what they were doing.

Heavy server load?

Maybe Apple should run Vista on the server so they can scale?

There is no updater for Tiger, at least not yet. On Tiger you access MobileMe through the old .Mac interface. Your authorization problem could be temporary; I had the same issue on my systems for a while before it started working.

MobileMe is working on Tiger; I'm using it on my Tiger system, just with the old .Mac interface. I don't think Apple ever announces ahead of time when updates will be released.

This same thing is happening to me. If I look at my Idisk mounted in the finder, it only shows a 9.88 GB capacity. If I log into the ME.COM website and look at the account tab, it shows I should have 20GB for my Idisk.

I'm torn as to whether to get MobileMe or not... I'm not sure I'd really use it enough. I sync my iPod Touch once a day anyway, and I already have my own website.... so I dunno.

More odd behavior...

Running 10.5.4, I go into .Mac preferences, it looks like this:

A few seconds later, softwareupdate talks to swcdn.apple.com.edgesuite.net in the background (thanks, LittleSnitch) and the .Mac pane now looks like this, automagically:

Then, I apply the MobileMe 1.1 update... but, my iDisk still looks like this (I mounted it after applying the 1.1 patch):

I just solved my problem this way....I logged into via the Mobile Me website and went to the storage settings. I had my .MAC settings from before set to only allocate 15 MB to mail and the rest to IDISK. I changed this setting to allocate 30MB for mail. When I did, the option to use 15MB disappeared from the list, but my Idisk now shows the correct 20 GB capacity in the Mobile Me preference pane, and when mounted in my finder.

Are you sure it isn't just that 10GB are allocated to iDisk and 10GB to mail? That appears to be the default.

Restart, and the icon should change.

Mobile Me for Tiger

So no updater for Tiger? It's all sort of working - if you wait 24 hours for it to push, and turn your computer and phone off first. Not exactly like the on-line demo.

After updating to mobileme within the system preferences and restarting the computer. I get the mobileme icon, but it says I only have 5gb storage in mail and idisk.

Anyone know what this is all about? thanks.
