Looks like problem solved. Haven't adjusted any setting and G Suite accounts now working in Mojave 10.14.4. :)
[doublepost=1554089995][/doublepost]I also find Mail is much faster in Mojave 10.14.4 running on a 2012 MacBook Pro. It was very slow prior to 10.14.4.

Did you have to do anything or did the problem just stop?

When news of the "fix" broke, I just shut down Mail... and then restarted it. I was prompted to authenticate the accounts that had previously not been working... after going through the authentication process, all accounts came online and have been working fine, ever since.

Yeah I just tried that and it worked! thank you!

Every time I close my MacBook Pro (15" 2018) and open it again with Mail.app open I have to close Mail.app and reopen it to get my mail updated. You can't click on the icons (marked with red tint) to active the Gmail accounts again. You can choose to activate the account, but they won't update or fetch new mail. The only solution is to close the Mail.app and reopen it.

It only happens if I run Mail.app before I pull down the lid. It doesn't have to even go to sleep. I have to restart Mail.app to get my Gmail accounts open.

Does this happen with other types of mail accounts? I have free standard Gmail accounts.

Happened after I updated to Mojave 10.14.4

Same problem for me. I've started using Outlook on my iMac. I may switch back if Apple fixes this.

I had this issue but re-authenticating as others have stated fixed it for me - no problems since

Two MBPs and one MM so far running 10.14.4. Only issue found was my MBP and Safari with some content blocker enabled. Had to render the pages multiple times to get all content to authorize GMail. Once that was done have had no issues since (knock wood).

Issue here, too, across school and personal accounts. Quitting Mail.app and reopening prompts it to fetch new mail, but then leaving it dormant for a few moments knocks it back to the state shown. Very frustrating. Will try a third-party application, for now.

I updated to Mojave 10.14.4 yesterday and all seemed good. This morning I woke up to most (5 of 7) Gmail accounts "offline" and prompting for login credentials "in Safari".

I went through the process of entering email addresses and passwords, and the accounts are still offline.
Whenever I try to take them online, I get prompted for the logins again, but they won't come back online.

Rebooted twice, but no go.

What did Apple screw up on Mail with this update?
same problem I have.

same problem I have.
Until yesterday I had intermittent login failed in Mail running 10.4.4. and resetting gmail only lasted temporarily.

A tip to sign into browser to gmail and go to settings (gear icon) and select 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' and then Status and ensure IMAP is ENABLED! Mine showed Disabled!

Since then over 24 hours gmail in Mail perfect.

I spoke to Apple support now. They gave me the fix I needed.

You remove the gmail accounts.
Then reenter the data, but NOT using the gmail button. Instead use 'other mail', and enter the data with username and password.

It works perfectly now.

Thank you for your reply, but I guess it does not work with gmail account that have enabled two steps verification? Now I am just quit the mail app and reopen the app to temporarily fix that.

I use Gmail & GSuite with two-factor. My Apple Mail works with zero issues using the Google login. The first day of the update it asked me to re-login and haven't had any issues since.

My only issue on my new MM was Safari was blocking content, probably a plug-in I had from before. But I figured it out and was able to re-auth all my email addresses for Google and not a problem since. My wife's went much smoother as she didn't have the content blocking issue I did.

I also use gmail & gsuite with 2FA and continue to see the problem of accounts going offline after an hour or so. Restarting mail makes it work for another hour. It seems random which users have the problem. 10.14.3 mail works, 10.14.4 continues having problems for some users.

Yeah, none of the mentioned fixes worked for me, either for gsuite or standard gmail with 2FA. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't resulted in pitchforks and torches, considering how worked up people get. It's caused me a considerable amount of anxiety.

For the record, adding a gmail account to Outlook for iOS is also broken. I had to go the manual IMAP / app-password route in order to get it set up.

wtf did google do?

I just got my new MacBook Air, and I updated to Mojave 10.14.4 right away. I entered my aol email account, and not just about every time I open my air, it says login failed. It works fine in my iPhone and iPad, but no the air or mini. I have to click on that to get my account to load. I've chatted with apple support twice, but they finally had to have a senior advisor call me. The guy who called wasn't very friendly, so I told him to have it re-scheduled for tomorrow. Anyway I hope they can fix whatever is going on. The same thing happens on my mini that is running El Capitan.

I wonder why more people aren't talking about this issue. It's happening on all 5 of my Gmail accounts where they won't connect and its infuriating. I can't find many people talking about it... the only solution is use IMAP option but I sync my calendar and I also have 2FA on.

Agreed ... I gave up using gmail on my desktop iMac via Apple mail.

I access my gmail via iPhone 7+ instead , tedious for some stuff.

Need a real Apple fix
