Mojave 10.14.4 Mail and Gmail accounts

Maybe too early to be optimistic, but it looks like this won't be an issue for me. Just yesterday did an upgrade on my 2017 iMac from Sierra to Mojave. Within the first few minutes of Mojave operation did get the message that I needed to provide my Google password to get my gmail working with Apple Mail. Put in my password one time and since then everything is working smoothly. No repeat requests for password. Fingers crossed
I think Apple may have fixed in the latest update as so far I don’t have any problems with my gmail account.
It seems that the 10.14.5 update fixed this issue... After updating I don't have this problem any more. Hope it stays that way.

I applied 10.14.5 this morning to my 2015 27” iMac and yes appears to have fixed this issue
macOS 10.14.5 and gmail accounts via Apple’s Mail app…
I skipped the 10.14.4 update because of the gmail via Mail problems described in this thread. After reading the most recent posts, I decided that it was safe to do the 10.14.5 upgrade via the combo updater.
But as soon as my Mini returned to life, I started getting the same pop ups that my “Google Password Required” via Safari followed by “Security alert” emails to both the gmail accounts and their linked email accounts.
After entering the Google password for each gmail account, the gmail accounts do work via Apple’s Mail app. But all those popups, entering Google gmail passwords via Safari (instead of System Prefs) and the “Security alert” emails didn’t leave me feeling very “secure”.
FWIW I get that the Security alert emails are just notifications that I had recently re-entered the Google account password. But the whole process, coming right after a macOS update, was still a bit unnerving.

The update fixed the server connection issue I was experiencing with 10.14.4. However, I've experienced a new minor problem. I generally leave the Mail app running with its window closed until I see some new email flagged. Previously, the window would remain closed unless I opened it. But now, it will open by itself randomly even if there's no new email.
Seriously, like in the 1990’s America Online? I gave up that email domain in the early 2000’s. Was not aware it was still active.
I used to be ... MikeRPB180@aol.com ... ha still remember it 20 years later.
I can confirm this, after a few days without any login problems they started again...
