HMD Anyone?

Does anyone remember HMD patent from not too long ago?

Seeing that HMD technology is sort of approaching 'usable' and 'practical' level, may be Apple wants to make money on it....

Superlaser2%20(Custom).jpg

Exactly - it's the iDeathStar

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

sounds like a load of BS to me.

Dell just released a mini projector recently. Apple has Keynote, so I imagine they think it is a good idea to tie the two together.

The only problem is you'll need a big/clean/white wall to project onto, which I imagine many don't have in their houses/flats/abodes.

Gaming brick

'Brick' sounds like a reference to the form factor (unless it's something to do with the power supply, which I doubt). Perhaps the Apple TV mark II is going to be some kind of gaming platform?

A gaming device? That's the first thing I think of when I see this image.

Yeah. I think it may be an External Video Card.

Their will be 1 line of MacBooks, Combining the MacBook and MBP into 1 line, all aluminum. 3 Sizes, 13, 15, and 17....

All will come with a Integrated Intel GMA x4500HD, AND an External Good Video Card in "The Brick" which will connect via some Proprietary connector/Cable. This way, Laptops can be thinner, cooler, more battery when on the go and whatever.... and when you want to play games, you plug in "The Brick" and instantly have like a Desktop class videocard (At least High End Mobile Video Card, with lots of memory)

I think this makes sense.. and is purely a guess... but something I would totally enjoy.

?

I really like the idea of a MBA-like laptop, with all the ports and peripherals in or attached the power-supply "brick".

The laptop itself could have one USB if I'm on the move, but when i plug in the power supply (the brick), I have all the other possibilities (like a SuperDrive attached, other USBs, video-outs etc). A part from the charging that will be still on cable, all the other things could be used wireless.
A sort of merging of a power-supply and an enhanced AirPort Express..
Or simply: "the brick".

Anyway the 9to5 post says that the image of the laser and the book just came along with other stuff that they will reveal during the weekend.

Right?

Having a dock charger thingo would mean one weird connector on the laptop to send and receive the data of all the usb/firewire/monitor/ethernet ports which means its gonna be slow if you plug in a few things, or we will end up with one thick cable.

I love the idea of a projector on the back of my macbook, like a reverse isight. except im guessing where a little bit away from something like that.

Yeah, probably you're right, I was sorta dreaming what cool solution Apple could bring!!

Perhaps not. If were an optical connector, it could potentially handle a much higher data rate, although video out and power in might still require separate connections.

I don´t know… Looks like the Apple logo´s going to blow any minute now. There´s something bleak and disturbing about the whole image methinks.

I already posted this, but now have to change it (see bold):

Right I'm fed up with all these rumours. Whatever they produce now it'll be a resounding disappointment. I'm now in a state where I'll have a tantrum if my new :apple: Macbook Pro doesn't have:

  • something that looks like the one below (pic shown in orig. post), but with an iphone sized trackpad to reduce cost, as Apple must be good friends with the supplier of those and a huge one is unnecessary.
  • I want it to have two real physical mouse buttons.
  • I wanna be able to put the dock in the trackpad, so I can make my apps fullscreen without wasting a gap along the left or bottom of my screen
  • This'll keep my greasy fingers off the main display, but still be fine for switching apps, since I want to be able to flip between windows and apps without using my other hand for F3 (expose). This means I can browse and flip pages, and navigate my mac with one hand, and sip champagne, or smoke a victory cigar with the other when I'm not typing.
(BTW: This won't give me a bad neck as I'll only be glancing at it, and the true cost of the iPhone screen alone can't be *that* much extra).
  • I wanna have access to DVD/itunes menu controls on it with the video or other app fullscreen on the trackpad.
  • I want to be able to do slideshows/presentations/etc full screen whilst using the dock to flip, pause, etc.
  • I wanna be able to turn it off and display the dock normally to save power when using it on battery.
  • I want it to be able to write someone an email or memo with the keyboard, then pop a stylus out the side of the MBP and can add a quick sketch/doodle of my idea with the trackpad without having to do a long winded mouse-done drawing in a proper graphics package. (sometimes a diagram says a thousand words, but I don't want to spend 15mins drawing it in a drawing app with a mouse)
  • It shall have either a Quad-core, or Dual 3GHz processor
  • I want it to be expandable to 8GB RAM
  • I want a "battle of hastings" 1066MHz FSB
  • I want 2x 500GB, 16MB cache 5400rpm 2.5" 12MM SATA HDD, or equivalent 7200rpm drives, so I can either have 500GB RAID, or 1TB depending how I make up my mind.
  • It shall have a power brick with an ethernet connector and a built in 802.11n airport on, where the ethernet FIBRE NETWORKING & FIREWIRE & HDMI comes up the cable VIA FIBRE OPTIC with the power. Then I only need 1 lead on my desk wherever I am when I'm using it plugged in, but if I unplug it switches to wireless network so I can use it anywhere nearby using the power brick as the wireless hub.
  • I want a frikkin' laser on my power brick so I can shoot stuff either by being connected, or I can use above built in airport extreme to shoot stuff via 802.11n
  • I want FW3200 port
  • I want an included FW400 to FW800/3200 adapter so I can plug my audio interface into it without having to go to Maplin on my way home.
  • I want a Blu-ray drive
  • I wanna also be able to run the laptop powered from a tesla coil at apple HQ (see tesla's energy transmitting experiments)

That's not too much to ask is it? :D

that's defeniately a laser, you can see the warning label on it, and that is also EXACTLY what an IR beam looks like with night vision goggles. Talking from experience.

I have no clue at all what's going on, if they have any concrete info they better release it.

Green-Ray?
Green Tooth?

I think it might have something to do with the charging of the batteries...

I'm not thinking some kind of green-ray as alternitive to blue ray because blue will always be beter than green.
They might introduce some brick shaped thing that reads and writes cd, dvd and blue ray.

The color green is there to make you think in the wrong direction or because apple is going very green concerning nature. Or they add some kind of green pointer (in the remote control for example)

The laser.. well a few weeks ago I was thinking how convenient it would be to always have a nice laserpointer with you for keynotes. Although red lasers are usually used for that purpose, the green laser is coming up. The human eye can see the color green allot beter than the color red, so it might make sense.
