More Claims of 'iPhone 5C' Name, iPhone 5S with 'Gold' Color Option and Home Button Changes

The whole 5C thing is weird. They are just going to take the guts of the old phones and put them in a new case. Viola! A "new" cheaper iPhone! Kinda what it is now, but in a new case. I guess re-branding it with a new name will drive more sales.

Very happy about a better low light camera though in the 5S. Better performance over megapixels is always welcome. Hope the slow-mo video is true too. I don't get the gold. I hope they don't do it. It's pretty ugly.
 
I'm fine with the camera staying at 8 megapixels. No need to take up storage space with ginormous picture sizes. Just focus on taking better photos, especially in low light.

Not a chance there's going to be a gold iphone so I'm taking the whole report with a huge grain of salt. :rolleyes:
 
Obviously, Apple wants to thank Obama for appealing the ban of their products. Obama happens to love gold...

oh god I am "this" close to deleting macrumours of my bookmarks. Do you seriously have no shame posting ridiculous rumours like these?
 
I have decided in my own mind this must be an incorrect source. Gold iPhone and the idea of no megapixel upgrade sickens me....

The only really good thing they can advertise is "Cool home button fingerprint sensor thingy!"... that other phones have already had.... :(
 
Ugh gold color, really!! And that font on the back is too big and thin... Awful
 
I have trouble buying either one of these rumors.

1. I can't see in what situation Gold would sell well.

2. I can't imagine they'd take the label off the button. It wouldn't stick out in the least after that.
 
Fine with gold; not for me. Just wish they would make the black a real black again; not this light black. Else: choice is good to have.

I know that, however with competitors having those advancements plus higher megapixels it doesn't make any sense to not include more megapixels as well.
 
One thing I'm really interested in is whether Apple will bump up the system RAM on the iPhone 5S to 2 GB. More RAM in the iPhone could offer a lot of benefits to the iPhone.
 
So many of you have no faith in Sir Jony. Do you really think he is going to make a kitsch, tacky product for Apple? If this gold rumor is true, Jony Ive will pull it off flawlessly, as him and his team have always done in the past. Have a little faith that Jony Ive knows what he's doing.
 
I doubt it about the 8mp camera on the iPhone 5S, mps aren't everything but it wouldn't make sense for apple not the upgrade it after 2 years
 
This really is making me going nuts,

Convex home button? HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!.... i dont want to get siri activated everytime i sit down coz the button is outside the front panel and with pressure can be hit unintentionally...

New home button image? at least i could imagine a more rounded icon in home button, coz now the ios 7 icons are more rounded, But... anything else could look a bit drastic to the elegance with the iphone

No megapixel camera upgrade? what are this asians thinking when launching this rumors, the camera must be upgraded to at least 12 mpx to reach the competition, WITH the low light improvement and dual led flash...

New gold color? i agree with the champaigne color someone talk about here, coz a real gold gold color will look awful

Lets hope this insane rumours that are running ultimately all are fake :C coz i will be really sad and i will start to look for another phone, im getting pissed with all this :C
 
If anyone really believes there's going to be a gold iPhone they're seriously on drugs. :rolleyes: I've seen some alleged parts in a champagne color, but it looks nothing like the gold in this photo. Why would MacRumors post a photo like that?!?
 
If Apple does release a gold iPhone it will look infinitely better than that mockup photo.
