If Apple does release a gold iPhone it will look infinitely better than that mockup photo.

That's why I hate when rumor sites post hardware mockups. They never look as good as the finished product. With iOS 7's color scheme does anyone really believe they'd release a phone that looks like the gold one in this mockup? Seriously?!?

The leaked parts for the rumored "gold" color look more like the color of piss when you are really dehydrated...doesn't look like gold at all. I hope to god that this is not real. If this happens...Apple stock will tank.

The leaked parts that show this "gold" color look pretty terrible. With or without the mockup...it is a terrible idea on so many levels.

Can't wait for all of the people who actually know about photography to come and rip you apart

Jesus, I shoot weddings for a living. I know about photography. Sure aperture is great and we all know the lens on the camera is what makes the pictures perfect. Im speaking in terms of technology. Not what is "acceptable"

8 megapixels...still? 3 years and no advancement in whats probably one of iPhones most used features?

8 megapixels is fine for me while mobile sensors all suck. I don't feel limited in my zooming of pictures, or have greater than 4k tv to display them, or crop the crap out of them. I do however take pictures in low light and would like to see improvements there. f/2.0 is way more important to me than more megapixels. more megapixels with small sensor means worse picture. why would you want that them to focus on resolution when low light on all mobiles sucks so bad? They will be able to get better low light performance on 8 mp than 12. No way around that. You can't improve low light and resolution at the same time without sacrificing the low light some. this is the megahertz myth all over again....

oh god I am "this" close to deleting macrumours of my bookmarks. Do you seriously have no shame posting ridiculous rumours like these?

Apparently not. That photo is hideous. Even the white and black phones look awful.

These rumors get more and more ridiculous as the years go by. Are the rumor spreaders not even trying anymore? Come on... Gold? Of all the colors to finally jump into other than black and white ...rumors say Gold? Give me a break.

I can accept a cheaper plastic iPhone even though I don't think that will happen but a gold colored iPhone is just ridiculous.

Here is my prediction of next iPhone: iPhone 5S - Same casing, look, and size as iPhone 5. 2-4x times faster processor and/or graphics than iPhone 5. Tweak to camera for better image and video taking. Maybe some enhancement to the battery so it stays at the current battery life or lasts longer. Probably in combination with new processor using less power. Done.

Wishful thinking: NFC purchasing, fingerprint scanner for enhanced security.

The upcoming fall event is usually oriented around media. So we'll get a reveal of iPhone 5S, maybe some incremental upgrades to existing MacBooks, maybe more details on Mac Pro ...but we'll see a big version upgrade of iTunes along with enhanced services. Maybe more integration of iCloud with everyday applications *cough* iPhoto *cough*. I'm hoping we'll see a big upgrade to iWorks and iLife

If this turns out to be true I think I might actually believe that Apple is losing it.

Sometimes I think Apple seeds these rumors themselves just as a red herring.

Remember me?

I don't think I want a gold iPhone but the gold iPod Mini didn't look bad.

Just curious, why would you need larger images? Higher megapixel does not mean better quality, actualy often worse. Unless you intend to use these images for posters or billboards, 8mpx should be fine. I would rather have better low light and overall better quality images.

But still cannot compete with Nokia 41MP Lumia 1020, that is a real nice camera.

I've seen the images taken with it. if you look at the images in full resolution it is actually grainy and ugly. Only when you zoom out or look at the image at a lower resolution does it actually look decent.

So yeah, the images look nice as long as you don't look at them in their native resolution.

I will give Nokia credit for the low light quality. Megapixels do not truly mean much after a certain point. The camera, especially iPhone's camera, needs better adjustments to other parts of the camera other than increasing the MP size.

Usually I'm the one that will say, "Well, someone will buy it, so who am I to argue?" But I can't remember the last time I've ever seen a gold-colored anything that I thought it looked good.

Billboards wouldn't even need that much resolution.

From 200 feet away... anything will look good.

The leaked parts look more like Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial color. I want one.
