Neowin does have a blurry pic of what they say is a verizon exec showing off an iphone to other people.

The exec was trying to guard it so thats why the pic is blurry.

http://www.neowin.net/news/exclusive-is-this-the-verizon-iphone

They state in the article because of how gaurded the exec was being they could not tell if it was a standard att one or a new verizon one. They are going by the fact that it was a high up verizon exec showing it off.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (BlackBerry; Opera Mini/5.1.21052/22.414; U; en) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54)

That image cracked me up. The flash reflection of course is in the top left corner where the carrier shows.... I can't wait to dump my crapberry......rim u suck.

Somebody owns their own iPhone, no way! I thought I was the only one.

Where are all the idiots that said the iPhone would "never" come to Verizon now. Come out, I got some crow for you. Truth is, once Jobs sniffs a dollar, he's already looking for a home for it in Apple's massive bank. He would never give up on bringing the iPhone to the largest carrier in the US. Simply dumb not to think so.

Some of the idiots are still here. Just read this thread. When it is released their then going to argue it really isn't an Iphone, just looks like one. LOL

Meanwhile, Gizmodo notes that they have not been invited to the event, despite having a good relationship with Verizon.Due to the iPhone 4 leak, Gizmodo has been blacklisted from Apple's media events, further suggesting that this is a joint Apple-Verizon event.

There is another product with 3G that is not tied into an exclusive deal with anyone. A product that Giz sister site Valleywag tried to buy info about, which also didn't make Apple too happy

So I would beware assuming this is phone related.

Price-wise it depends on multiple factors. I don't think Verizon has an unlimited data plan anymore. May be a consideration if you have AT&T and grandfathered unlimited data (with a soft cap of 5GB). Also, it's Verizon, so in regards to price, it'll be more expensive.

Some simple research would show that VZW's smart phone plans are $15/150 mb and $30 for unlimited. There is no cap.

So I wonder if Verizon will pull an offer for promo pricing to anyone with a contract expiring in 2011? They've done this with several Droids in the past and would certainly sell a boatload of iPhones by doing it.

I'm 14 months into my two year contract, so I'm up for an annual upgrade, and fully plan on using it for the iPhone.

I'm right here, no Verizon iPhone till 2012!!!! ;)

Not to be a downer, but he was probably showing off an app or some data or something. Smartphones have been around for awhile, even if that was an iPhone running on VZW, what's to show?

I'm one of those idiots!
:D

no Verizon iPhone till 2012!

Well what can I say? There is no way this is bogus. This is been leaked to the press by people inside of Apple and/or Verizon.

Here a quote. "The largest U.S. wireless carrier will make the long-awaited announcement at an event Tuesday in New York City, a person familiar with the matter said Friday."

They are not guessing here they are talking to someone they trust to know these things. Believe what you want I guess.

But will the same be true for iPhone plans? iPhone users are known to use way more data than any other smart phone.

For one, I doubt they will have a plan JUST for iPhones. Two, current Verizon customers are grandfathered in. Three, the availability of unlimited data is a HUGE selling point to get folks to come from AT&T.

I have the same good luck with AT&T and have had all the iPhones since the first one on day one. When the iPhone came out I switched from Verizon and was very happy with them at that time. When I ported over I was leery about AT&T but have to say I have never noticed a difference in service! C.S is a whole other story, Verizon C.S was absolutely SHI**Y and NASTY! AT&T C.S has been great and I have a family plan with 4 iPhone 4's as well as an iPad with their 3G 250MB plan. I've been happy with AT&T, however I know Verizon is good and I can't wait until they get the iPhone so I can watch my Apple stock go up and I also have invested in Verizon stock. I got my Apple stock a few years back and it's been great, I hope Verizon does the same.

I'm also hoping to see somewhat of a price war as I would have no problem switching to Verizon or staying with AT&T and pricing will be my only concern between the two. I live in southern Ca. just outside of L.A near the coast and both carriers work great here.

I don't have a problem with AT&T and the iPhone where I live - but traveling to bigger cities shows me why some people complain.

Wrong.

Users on Android phones, meanwhile, are particularly data hungry, Arieso said, consuming more data than iPhone 3G or iPhone 4 users in terms of data call volumes, time connected to the network, and data volume.

And there's nothing to support the idea that VZW would have a different plan for iPhones. The price for BB's and Android phones are the same. They're the same for all smartphones on AT&T as well.

It's threads like this that make me wish we had a user-rating system. That way when someone is so adamant about a topic, and they turn out to be right or wrong, they can be up or down-ranked accordingly.

You know, just something for future threads so we can tell whose opinion is worth more than someone else's because that person is a dumbass.

The most interesting thing left to learn is whether AT&T and Verizon will get new phones on the same schedule or iPhone 5 will be delayed on Verizon. Sadly, I doubt Verizon will reveal this particular detail on Tuesday.

The logical thing would be to introduce this year's iPhone early, beginning with Verizon next month and AT&T a couple of months later (after Verizon demand cools a little). It would basically be a slightly improved version of the current iPhone 4 with better specs, but not LTE. That would be reserved for the iPhone 5 which both carriers would get at the same time in 2012. That would also be the best way to avoid shafting Verizon customers, like myself. That would be the fair thing to do. I'm sure both Apple and Verizon thought about how replacing the Verizon version of the iPhone only 4 months later would piss off Verizon customers who bought that too quickly obsolete iPhone. Of course when it comes to making money, logic and fairness can go out the window.

Sure, I could wait until the summer and see what happens. Now let's say only the AT&T iPhone gets replaced. Do I keep waiting until the holidays or 2012? Verizon and Apple should think beyond making a quick buck and give us some degree of reassurance on what their plans for 2011 are. We don't need all of the details, just enough to make an informed decision on wheter we should purchase or not.
