So the new iOS 7 innovation is copy MS for the flat feel and go back in time to before colour TV existed for the interface ?

iVE needs to be taken far away from the UI and case design of apple products , let the hardware guys build the guts, then let iVE build the case around the components, instead of building the case and then shoehorning what the can into a cramp, thermally inefficient space.

I wouldn't get the decorator to build my house ! and i would let my builder design it !

glad you've seen the final design before the rest of us.

Oh really? I guess a software engineer for audi electrical system can design the outlook of the car too?

Yes, really. I'm talking strictly how the software/hardware looks & operates. Other people within Apple take his ideas and make it a reality. No need for him to do the programming / fabricating himself.

What does an engineer have to do with design? You're mistaking what design IS. Design is design. Jony understands design very well. He's no dummie. Its amazing how some of you on these forums seem to think YOU understand design better than an actual designer that's part of the worlds most talented consumer design team.

You really think you understand design better than Jony? Get over yourself, please. Jony's a very gifted person. And what exactly do you do thats noteworthy?

Btw, interesting that you've seen iOS 7 and can declare "no new innovations." Would you mind letting us see whats in iOS 7? We're all dying to know, since you have all the answers.

Thank you.

Ive doesn't have anything to do with the components fyi :)

WWDC logo makes sense now. Signaling a dedicated color for stock apps.

Because they've never used these color before such as last years logo?

I haven't read more than a few postings but it's a rumor on the design and last years logo didn't mean anything either.

The "Designers" in this posting have really made my day. To think, I didn't really know what I wanted all this time...

I don't need to see it , it's going to be a required upgrade to run apps going forward , probably make the 4 and earlier phones obsolete and because its a like it or lump it , no choice scenario there is not a lot we can do about it .

Of the 4 options (blackberry/android/windows phone 8 and ios ) it's still 75% better than the first 3 so ill put up with mr Ives device anorexia

Just curious which current hardware product is housed in a thermally inefficient space? Also wasn't it Steve Jobs decision to have everything start with design rather than them coming in at the end just as stylists?

I know that , which is what I was saying , he makes the case , then some poor hardware engineer has to make the iMac iPhone whatever fit inside it , this is the wrong way around and leads to shoddy hardware and thermal problems

Pretty much all the MacBooks and the iMac , the MacBooks , unless your just browsing flash free web sites and running nothing else are almost always clocking themselves down due to thermal limits being hit

I smell troll, but I'll bite. My Macbook Pro doesn't kick off the fans even a little bit when I'm watching 1080p 40mbit uncompressed blu-ray quality media. The only time I hear the fans are when I'm doing rendering which uses all 8 threads.

Whatever Ive comes up with, he has to have someone at the helm that will gently sway him to the right direction if/when he falters (we all do).

Now let me ask you all something.

Does anyone really trust a guy (Tim "Sculley" Cook) who proudly claims he only uses an on screen keyboard to have the good judgement to do that?

-------------------

P.S. I am really discouraged to read about white backgrounds, as much as I disliked the yellow notepad, shades other than white make for better ergonomics in terms of reading an lcd screen.

And now I said, a really, really dirty word for Joni which I hope won't come back to bite us all in the ass now that he's taking care of ui design too.

I don't get where this 'they're copying Microsoft' attitude is coming from. It's not like they created the minimalistic look in software and digital media. It's everywhere!

Plus, if it's anything like those concepts posted few pages back it's going to be great. It's more like Windows Mobile: what it should have been, rather than Windows mobile copied.

They hit the thermal limit and throttle far to quickly for my liking , ill admit this is probably because I really need a Mac Pro , not an iMac or MacBook to do what I need , but as apple won't sell me one in the EU I'm kind of stuffed , at the moment I'm having to go through the pain of building a hackintosh so I can get the power I need without the heat throttling

Honestly, the extent that this community blows everything and anything out of proportion is insufferable to say the least.

Of course people just saw the headline and said "eww this will be terrible". If one actually read the article they'd get that black and white is replacing stuff like faux linen and green felt. So I don't get why people keep posting that god awful black/white home screen mockup other than they're just being smart asses and think its clever or funny.

Exactly - I can't imagine in a million years the home screens will be full of black and white icons. It'll far more likely be a case of losing things like the yellow paper in Notes, and losing the blue top and bottom bars on apps with the black style of the updated Podcast app, or the white of the Music app.

These have become a bit inconsistent across apps, so will likely be unified. Perhaps even be a setting to choose black or white depending on the colour of the phone.
