Around what time can we expect to see or not see, the new MBP tomorrow?
i guess my question is,
-what time are Jobs' keynotes usually at?
-when do they put the product up?
-and can we buy it tomorrow?

<------------- first time mac user, this mbp will be my first, and im a nub, so excuse my nubness

-There won't be a keynote--if released it'll just be posted on apple.com and on this site
-All the last non-event new product announcements have been posted to MacRumors at around 8:40 AM EST
-It depends, but I'd bet you'll be able to buy tomorrow and it'll start shipping either immediately or within 3 weeks
Happy first Mac.

Well I must be honest.....It's almost going to to be bittersweet to see the update come. By far, reading about everyones certain demise if the MBP's don't arrive has been quite entertaining and will leave me with 30 more minutes a day to be more productive! It's going to be hard to listen to everyone whine about the (insert whatever Apple product here) not being released or updated since I don't want or need one in the near future. I suppose the SDK is what will get everyone's underwear in a bunch next! :D

because we don't know how reliable that picture is.

Well the photo was obviously taken recently since the window display depicts the Pink Nano display... I don't recall any news of MBP's being wiped from the shelves since then.....

we'll all find out tomorrow.
what we all want is one thing.

Near Apple Store... when would they change them out?

I can run over to my local Apple Store which just shut the doors at 9:26p to see if they are changing any computers out... Would they do that tonight? Or before they open tomorrow?

I got my first Mac about 5 years ago, and the number of issues people were reporting was low. However that could be because it was a matured product.

The Intel Macs came out about 2 years ago and have gone thru a large number of hardware issues, however that is to be expected with new motherboards and new chips. So maybe it just need a little more time before it looses all the pimples.

Having had multiple intel Macs in the past 2 years I have as many issues as I did on PPC Macs. Which is very low. I believe the number of issues you see is due to the much higher number of purchasers.

That would be neat. Perhaps someone has an Apple store nearby they could run to to at least see if the MBP's are still on display.

I haven't been able to sleep for many Mondays, now... Cheers to another sleepless night, waiting and wondering if the new MBP will be in my more immediate future!

If the MacBook and the MacBook Pro models are going to look the same, I can see the product line merging into one line of Pro notebooks. After all, the MacBook is almost as powerful as the Pro models already.

I think you are on to something...

I think there will be one line as well with a 13 (hopefully 12) inch macbook pro... they might change the name wih a merger as well

I think by "look the same" , the OP meant there won't be a case redesign. i.e. they're going to look the same as they currently do.

I'm not sure I see any logical reason for Apple to merge the MB and MBP lines.

As has been said for years, though, a 12- or 13-inch MBP would be dreamy!

Though I need (want, really) a new MBP, I will very much miss the tiny footprint of my 12-inch PowerBook... Like the MBA, when it comes to notebooks, smaller is better!

I'm hoping you are incorrect. If :apple: blurs the line between the two products we will surely see a new set of specs for the 15" and 17" models. I'm not as concerned about the case design.

I predict...

that if there is no update to the MBPs tomorrow, some macrumor forum reader will make the evening news for having gone off the deep end. Hopefully, they won't go postal.

Luckily, I still like my C2D MPB, as it's still a pretty fast laptop...

So I'm not the only one that won't be sleeping tonight? Excellent! Anybody wanna play Slumber Party: The Game for Girls?

uh...guys...you do realize that the update (regardless of whether or not it includes the new MBPs) won't be visible until about 9am est (6 pst) at the very earliest? I just wouldn't want you to make a rash decision on a lack of sleep and order a pink iPod shuffle to bundle with your new laptop...

If I didn't have to work I'd stay up, just for the hell of it!

Yeah, but it's like Christmas, except we have no idea whether or not Santa wil actually come, errr, arrive.

Sdk?

I broke down and had to buy my MBP (my mini just was not cutting it) the other week so just for the sake of sour grapes I hope the MBP update is not until March:(. However I do hope they finally release the new iTunes and iPhone/iPod Touch SDK software.
