Apple Store UK Refurb Products have seen big price drops, how is this also limited time on the iMac's?? Maybe a hint!!

I've been needing a new Mac after my little G4 mini went belly up towards the end of last year. I thought I would wait until the January show for an iMac update, nothing. Was waiting for the Feb event, but then that looked all SDK and got put foward anyway. When all the talk was about MBP this week, and decided I couldn't wait until into March, so stumped up full price for a 20" 2.4.

It arrives this morning, only for me to read this info about the refurbs. Not only would I have happily bought a refurb (Which weren't available last week, and haven't been for weeks), but now it looks like my new Mac will be out of date before I even get it home and out of the box......Totally p*ssed off now!

I think my new purchase will stay firmly in its box until this afternoon so I can see whether there is something special in an update to justify losing £60 on rerturning it!

refresh (sigh!) refresh...

My bro's white iMac arrived the day the new alu ones launched. So he decided he'd pay the restocking fee. Phoned apple and they said sure, no problem and didnt charge the fee - so you might be lucky

Seeing as I've bought so many Apple goodies over the last 4 years, do you think Steve will pay out for my medical bills for fixing the RSI I've developed from hitting 'refresh' thousands of times every Tuesday?

So while the :apple:store is down! What shall we all do. the prospect of work just doesnt appeal to me when the excitment of the possibility of new products is rather overwhelming

So how long to we all reckon it will be down for,

my guess... 2 hour 7 minutes - with being back online at 1.23 (GMT time that is) given that the US went down at about quater past the hour

I would seriously laugh my butt off if they all went down and nothing was different. At all. Then they announce iPhone SDK and Time Capsule delays later on on their main site. What if...
