So while the :apple:store is down! What shall we all do. the prospect of work just doesnt appeal to me when the excitment of the possibility of new products is rather overwhelming

So how long to we all reckon it will be down for,

my guess... 2 hour 7 minutes

In terms of Percieved Time Elapsed? About 6 years...

Idle question: How long can a person safely hold the contents of their bladder without doing permanent damage?

The facilities seem so much further away at the present moment...

last time this bad-boy wasn't up until like 1:30 my time, or 3 hours from now.

It would be funny if they updated everything that we're waiting for, MBP, MB, timeCapsules, screens, mac mini...

For everybody who's using Firefox: There's a tool called 'reloadevery'. You can set it up to refresh your browser every x minutes/seconds. I've been using it for keynote live-feeds. The tool can be downloaded from the official Firefox add-on page.

I don't think it's worth me staying up (10:30 pm atm) for this

It wont be any different than seeing it in the morning. Night all!

Well in Japan it's 8:45 pm so that gives me 3 hrs 15 before I should hit the sack .... am excited despite the fact that I'm perfectly happy with my 5 Macs but could certainly be swayed by either newly designed MB without plastic and barbed wire edges, or MBP with better, non-mushy keyboard.

The Secrecy ! It's killing me...

I admire the secrecy that SJ manages... We are hours - perhaps minutes - away from new product launches and we (collectively - across the globe) haven't a clue what's coming. We have hopes - but no real clue. My hope is a revised MBP available in store this week... and I'm not too fussed if it's a speed bump with bigger HD and Air's touch pad (not the keyboard, please !)... so long as no price hike.:):)

OMG the UK store is also down!!

That means that it is definitely something big, be it Time Capsule or updating MB, MBP or iMacs....

Before it has just been USA, then small updates globally, but the UK is DOWN, woo-hoo, Tom Cruise on a sofa, woo-hoo!!!

Yep looks like something significant. When all the stores go offline like this it's almost certainly an update to one of their product lines.

yeah on a final note, this must be big - all the stores are down at once. It's usually just the US store, then the world stores follow after a few hours...but a international update...big. I hope.

Strange question maybe but why do the stores go down for so long? Surely all the new content is ready, signed off and aproved on a staging server so they just need a simple switch?

i work for a company as big as apple, and when we do a web release - the site doesn't even go offline!?

Or are they just playing with us
