MacRumors staff are falling behind...
They should have this on the front page...

Maybe it has to do with not having enough space internally? Or maybe Apple wants to make the Volume Up button easy to take pics?
You mean how it's in different places on the different images?
I should have mentioned ... but it appears to be on the right side of the iPhone when it's normally on the left side.
That's going to be a bit weird to get used to.
If its anything like the iPad 2, my REAL hope is that the power cable inlet isn't ANYTHING like the iPad 2s. The angle SUCKS!!!

I totally agree with that. My Galaxy S II (8.49mm) sometimes feels a bit too thin, and coupled with the really big screen, it gets a little uncomfortable for me to hold.
Same here the screen size and thinness of the galaxy s2 definitely felt awkward at first but I have adapted to it now.
From image to image, it changes which side it's on. That's what I'm saying.
Either a totally bogus case, or someone needs to fire their graphic designer.
It changes from image to image? Can you please present some case images? Because after the iPhone 5 case design schematic leak, i've been seeing cases which are very similar in design.
I highly doubt any case manufacturer wants to lose money by making a case design which will not fit the iPhone 5.

Is there any actual proof that case manufacturers have mass produced any of these "iPhone 5" cases? And furthermore, has any well known manufacturer been mentioned with these "iPhone 5" cases yet?
Go look at the very first imagine in this thread. In the varying perspectives, it jumps around from side to side.
I've been seeing the same case design for quite sometime actually:

That's my point. I haven't seen other designs after the rumored iPhone 5 case design schematic was leaked.

Go on alibaba.com and search for iPhone 5 cases. There are plenty of listings, and most have 1,000 piece minimum order quantities.
This is proof? Some search results for "iPhone 5 cases":
http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search...0&IndexArea=product_en&fsb=y&viewAllCategory=
Most of the results are iPhone 4 (or "4g") cases. Couple of examples for the "iPhone 5":
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/493924412/for_iphone_cover_case_5.html
Minimum order is 1000 or 500, not sure what it's saying there. They cost $.85-1.65, so probably about $.30 to produce.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/493962491/New_TPU_case_for_iPhone_5.html
No price on this one, 500 minimum order.
Both have delivery time at up to 15 days, minimum of 5 and 8 days. Combine that with the minimum order amount, and that tells me that the cases are to be manufactured at the time of order...not made in advance. So the theory about these knock off companies risking losing all this money is bogus. They aren't producing anything until someone orders and pays.
So I guess the next step would be to show me some confirmation that retailers are out there buying bulk quantities of these items and I'll be closer to believing this is what the phone will look like.
Note: The second link provided ("for iphone cover case 5") shows a cutout for the mute switch but nothing on the other side (or same side for that matter) for volume control. Believable.![]()

Clearly, there are cases that are being produced in advance. The fact that there are so many cases which point to a nearly identical design, definitely points to something.
A case manufacturer would want to make profit from it's cases, and the last thing they would want is to make numerous cases which won't sell because it doesn't fit the correct design.
There have been numerous rumors about a thinner, and bigger iPhone, sporting a bigger screen with a complete redesign.
It can be speculated that this is the iPhone 5, which Apple's top secret device. I can only imagine that they wouldn't want a repeat of last year's.
Whether you believe in these rumors and speculation is up to you. But after over a year since the iPhone was last upgraded, if we're to expect a warmed iPhone 4, then it's a pretty disappointing thought for the most valuable tech company in Market Cap. When HTC, Samsung, Motorola, etc. are coming out with a new Android phone every other month.
Strange! standing up the case is just straight and not tappered. Laying on his back you quite can see its tappered. Or are my eyes fooling me...

I think most of us don't find that to be a backwards move, considering you're fitting an entire smartphone into a case the size of a touch.
The angle is EXACTLY THE SAME as the original iPad - parallel to the screen. It is also just as secure in terms of support as the original. If its anything like the iPad 2, my REAL hope is that the power cable inlet isn't ANYTHING like the iPad 2s. The angle SUCKS!!!
