No, we have just all been spoilt with an AMAZING industrial design in a compact and small and usable form factor. We do not want Apple to destroy that or alienate the developers community!
Sure they could make it a tad wider, but I would not make judgment until we we see the actual next iPhone.
I hope all you naysayers don't pre-ORDER so I have a better chance.
Wimping out has nothing to do with it. I have a custom dock installation in my Mazda Miata. My wife and I are retired and we do a lot of extended traveling in the Miata (we did Route 66 - Chicago to LA last year). While traveling, the iPhone not only serves as a music jukebox, but as a navigational aid and a weather station. When traveling the country in the Miata, the iPhone is just as important to me as a speedometer and a gas gauge. Altering my custom dock installation would be a pain in the butt. It could be months or years before a company like Dension introduced a new model with integrated dock connector.
In addition, I dock my iPhone with my A/V receiver and I've got two "boom boxes" that I regularly dock my iPhone to. These would all have to be replaced or I'd have to use dock adapters (not an ideal solution).

I keep hearing this is so unlike Apple yet at the same time people seem willing to assume it's legit and the finished product. That doesn't add up.Can't see this being it.
The Apple logo on the black model is barely visible. I just can't see Apple having it that dull that it barely stands out considering they're marketing champions.
Oh and why does the white iPhone not have the 'assembled in China' underneath the iPhone tagline but the black one does?
Something isn't adding up here.

If it is thinner, comes with LTE, a 4" screen and updates its software and hardware, I have no problem with an iteration of the iPhone 4. I own a iPod touch 4G and the last thing I want is an iPhone with the same form factor. I think the taper (like the iPad 2 and the new one) is wrong for the iPhone. I appreciate the heft and prefer the slab sides.
My opinion - this looks cool.
You're reading my post as if both things are true. It's just two speculations.
Why does one of them have the assembled in China on it, and the other just iPhone? Is one a production model and one somehow a prototype? Doesn't make sense.
I'd love that to be explained to me rather than sarcastic comments from people.
that is the best design ever. I would love that phone
Although it does look real, only Apple can make such metal work on the inside. Few possibilities:
1. Old prototype that Apple leaks on purpose to create hype
2. Chinese made-fake to get some hype.
3. Old iPhone 5 that Steve Jobs killed before it went too far.
I really don't see this being Ive's work at all. The metal back with small glass parts on sides? Ugly, huge holes for speaker?
No this is not Apple.
Ahh, I love these rumors. Every year we have tons of people saying how hideous the design is, then it comes out and everyone loves it.
Seriously, learn to remember what you said last time.
