What does this mean for next year revs? They can’t shoot themselves in the foot twice? I suspect all models of the iPhone 15 will carry flagship design features and software with exception of the display, camera and finish. But A17, Dynamic Island and possibly RAM might be standard this time. Apple has got to realize people are holding onto these phones much longer. I don’t see many on 12, 13, 14 Pros all upgrading to the 15.
It's already known that the iphone 15 will get dynamic island, this was already known even before the 14 was released. Nothing new, and Apple is not reacting to anything. It's their standard business strategy to trickle down tech.

Take the sensor shift IS camera that was exclusive to the 12 Pro Max. Then the next year, it's standard for all the 13 models. Nothing new.

What's new is Apple staggering the SoC from now on, with the Pro (and presumable Ultra) models getting the latest chip, and the regular models getting a -1 version. TBH, Apple has quite a lead in SoC performance per watt anyway that imo this doesn't matter in the short term. And Apple now will use software to lock certain features from older models, even if they have the same SoC as the current one. Eg. Iphone 15 with A16 chip might have some feature that won't be available on the iphone 14 Pro.

The high class buying them, not the middle class. :p
By that logic, the 14 Pro should be selling less as percentage of "high class" is actually quite small. But it's selling more, meaning more people are actually buying the Pro models. Your theory just doesn't jive.

In reality, Apple, like any luxury brand, tend to not be severely affected by economic events. People who can afford iphones are not people who have problems getting food on the table to begin with.

Bring back the mini for the 15. It’ll have the Dynamic Island as well since all iPhone 15 models will have it.

The mini is done. It completed its real mission, which is to accustom people into spending $800 for the regular iphone vs $700 (when the iphone 11 was launched). Now people unknowingly have &800 as the base price of iphones. Mission accomplished, time to go higher., Aka 14 Plus. ;)

These are resellers. If Apple created more phones this time (supply chain a little more healthy in 2022 than 2021) you get the exact same effect. Since no one knows that information…this is just clickbait garbage to reinforce our priors.

How can the Plus model be losing resale value when it isn’t even available yet?
Because no one wants it. lol. People pay the upcharge for Pro models. Apple screwed any chance of selling this model when they delayed it 3 weeks from the other models.

As pro models are proving most popular, perhaps Apple will realize there's a market for an iPhone 15 Mini Pro?
It would seem a great range: 15 Mini Pro, 15, 15 Pro Max
Who would have thought that people want the best they can get…

What is the reason that dynamic island is only on the pro model?

Why isn't it offered on all the new iphone 14's?

When i see commercials, they only talk about the pro model and the island , guess that is the issue. not everyone needs that pro model and other than the dynamic island , no really good reason to upgrade unless u have a 3 yr old phone.

Oh, and still lightning cable lol, are u kiddin me.?
