So it's confirmed now....The Beatles! Oh come on, not a huge fan of them, and some of my friends, who are huge fans, could care less, they've had entire collections for a long time now.

Sorry to anyone who cares, but imo that somewhat flashy and mysterious sighting on the Apple homepage was all for not..

Wow, they're amazingly accomplished.

After hearing the news of this band the Beatles (mispelled, btw) I went to wikipedia only to learn that my favorite recording artist Richard Starkey, who sings imagine me there, actually played with them. I am so excited to be able to download his work with them at the Apple Store. Only twelve hours to go. Those other guys probably sound amazing backing him up while he sings tune after tune.
Tomorrow's going to be a big day for all of us Starkey fans.

I came out of my macrumors.com forum slumber for this? Oh well... back to Windows 7 :p

Maybe the Apple Cube is coming back

Anyone else noticed the fuzzy grey background on the Apple website even matches the background on the album cover for HELP?

Either Or

I find it interesting that all posts I have read assume that Apple is making one announcement tomorrow (e.g. The Beatles catalog). Apple could certainly announce iCloud and use The Beatles catalog to help promote it.

Haha

Calm down, I'm not coming after you with a machete. I'm just asking you (and others like you) to consider that Apple is a company with millions of customers besides yourself, and your personal needs are not, and nor should they be, Apple's top priority. By all accounts Apple is doing phenomenally well and they've been ignoring what all the whiners are saying.

Side note- I don't mean for this to get personal. I can't remember if you actually posted anything like what i'm talking about, tbh. I'm talking about a lot of this community in general.

That's ridiculous. This is a forum for people to post what they think. It would be absurd for everyone to post about what's truly apples best interest

If everyone only posted "I think that apple has a good business plan and surely has good intentions with this announcement" then this would be a lame thread

This is THE most appropriate place to say "darn, I wanted cloud-tunes".

And If I want to post "this is dumb, who cares about the beatles?", I'm not harming a beatles fan. Neither am I being selfish. I would be posting a relevant thought.

Give people a break

Apple, Inc. buys (merges with) Apple Corp.?

Ok, I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe the reason why we'll "never forget" tomorrow, is that Apple, Inc. will use their tremendous stash of cash to either purchase or merge with Apple Corp. After all, half of the Beatles are dead already and I'm betting that the remainder would like to simply sit and rake in the money for the rest of their comfortable lives. How much is Apple Corp. worth these days? Might it make a lot of sense to simply merge the two? This would give the new "Apple Corp, Inc." a full foot and leg also into the recording business, thus allowing it to become the primary source for independent song makers world-wide. Using Garageband and the iTunes Store to promote anyone who's interested in making their music public on the new "Apple Corp, Inc" label.

We'll see, tomorrow.

Apple prolly promised a front page ad in order to convince them to offer it with iTunes. It only makes sense.

If it was streaming music.. that would be a press conference to announce it. This is just a front page ad. It fits.

I would be very disappointed if this were just the beatles, but your's is a good argument.

Love the Beatles, but this hype really can't be all about them, that would be too much.

Well whoopty *****.

Shame they waited for the online culture to overtake them and provide incentive for anyone interested in their musical adventures to download their entire discography at the click of a button from any one of a hundred different sites.

Something we'll never forget... just as every drop of information from Apple is somehow magical, revolutionary or simply incredible*. I've forgotten already.

*Perhaps literally.

I hope it's not just about The Beatles, I couldn't care less about them. Seems like a waste of built up anticipation for something so lame.

Big Nothing!

If the rumour is true, what a big load of nothing. The beatles as good as they were are hardly front page news or indeed that relevant these days! Nothing to see hear, move along people :/

Interesting... I never thought of that before. Storing copious amounts of lossless music would be an awesome way to use this new data center. If only most people had fast enough Internet to make it a reality.
That is not so far fetched an idea, they may be making all the Lossless files once the place opens and keeping them until people can download them in a couple of years, it will take a long time to do that, Jobs knows that one day he will have to go Lossless, i'm speaking from experience, I have 17,000 CD's ripped in Apple Lossless, it took five years to rip them, but, i'm set for life...

Let Steve have his day

For all you naysayers out there, let SJ have his moment. He just got the Beatles on iTunes and he wanted to celebrate with the world. Be happy for him. :)

I hope the Beatles isn't the only thing Apple announce on Itunes, I would like to see a pay service subscription or the other one cloud itunes announcement tomorrow.
