To those who do not like The Beatles;

No-one is asking you to log on and check out the Apple home page when the clock ticks your local time. If this is indeed an announcement about the band being release on iTunes then its a big deal for many people. Just because a select number of Apple Geeks don't happened to like The Beatles does not make the announcement suddenly irrelevant and unworthy of being on the home page.

The Beatles are akin to traditional Disney films - there is so much control over the releases that it is a big deal to those in the music industry. Whats more, Apple [the record label] are looking to the future, for The Beatles is a trademark that they rely on. Apple have already had to let go of Abbey Studios in town because its not doing anything. It's currently on the market and not even being turned into a museum.

While I don't agree with the number of 'remasters' these days [saturated in modern Dolby], The Beatles coming to iTunes is great not just for current fans, but will bring new ones too. Many people aren't concerned about having hard-copies of the music, and as such iTunes quality is perfectly fine.

So, if you don't like The Beatles then just literally Let it be. Stop spoiling it for the fans that actually are interested. Its been bad enough that for months, iOS has filled up these pages, and i'm just glad to see something different.

I think even steve knows that the Beatles are only popular with a generation whose day is nearing its end, with a few exceptions, as always. If this is all the news there is, then it's just being hyped in hopes people will actually care.

Won't deny what the Beatles did or have accomplished, but if Apple is hyping up they struck a deal, and that's the news. That will be the poorest excuse for attention whoring I've ever seen. iTunes (and maybe way off here) is used by a generation of people that probably don't even know who the Beatles were/are and will never care.

I'm 40 and while I've heard plenty of Beatles music, yet given the choice I don't care to listen to it.I don't own/won't/will never buy any of their music. They "were" a great band, they are great artists, they are no longer relevant to anyone under 40. I didn't realize iTunes target audience was the 40+ crowd but what do I know. I guess we will find out in a few hours.

I really hope their is something more than this. Otherwise it's pure :apple: fail.

I still don't understand the negative votes. Even if you don't like the Beatles, it is great that they are coming to iTunes. You may not buy the music but others will.

The Beatles will ALWAYS be relevant.

Never forget?

Certainly won't forget the disappointment if that's all it is.

I'm old enough to remember the Beatles but anyone who really cares about their music has bought it and ripped it from CD long ago.

Could you elaborate why it's pure :apple: fail ? It will generate more profit for Apple / Apple shareholders but I suppose it's pure :apple: fail because it doesn't interest you.

Yeap. Cause Apple is working for us. So for us it would be apple fail. Apple fail. Even better than Epic fail.

Yeap. Your Queen is very important to your citizens too. What do we care, anyways ?

It's all 1960-1970. By any chance did you notice we are in 2010 now ? 40 ****ing years

These comments pretty much sum up the joys of being stubborn. Time is irrelevant - How can you value music based on how long ago it was recorded? Are you perhaps suggesting that only 2010 music is acceptable?

Please wake up.

That list proves what most people knew already. They were strong in the 60s and 70s, began dying in the 80s, was nearly dead, if not dead already, in the 90s, and by the 2000s, not relevant. We're already up to 2010. I doubt there are many people who care anymore, and as people have pointed out, anyone who cared enough to want the Beatles in digital format already has their CDs on their iPods.

I already told ya. Who love Beatles - already own all of their albums. And they are all probably old men. Like my dad, who's nearly 60.
Everybody else (just read the comments) don't care.
Beatles are nothing special. They've been refreshing then, now they are boring.

About 2 years ago my (then) 7 year old daughter came home from school and asked if I had any songs by the Beatles, despite us never having played her any of their stuff at home. There's probably about 8 tracks off the 1 compilation CD that she still regularly listens to (that and all the High School Musical/Mamma Mia s**t).

So if you are not listening to sound of animal (music of 2010) dying you are so not cool right?

The Beatles are amazing, they will always be relevant. I love them.

NOT happy with Apple for using it's influence over it's customers to draw attention to this announcement, and purposely disguising it as something we'd actually be interested in.

What a bizarre and ridiculous thing to post. If you like music in general, then you like the Beatles, and probably have collected some. I've never met anyone that actually liked music and didn't like the Beatles.

Every young person I know that was raised by normal adults at least appreciates if not loves some of Beatles. To even suggest that they're not relevant to people under 40 is an utter fairytale, not worth repeating.
