Looks like I was pretty close all around
Screen size was slightly off, resolution and CPU were spot on. Battery was on target. And pricing for on contract was spot on.
Smart arse

I do really like the size, shape and design of the handset though.![]()

That makes no sense. Any phone bought for full price on AT&T will be unlocked by them. Even the iPhone
I guess we will see what they announce tonight. I kept reading that it will be as game changing as the release of the first iPhone. I haven't seen what makes this phone better than the rest yet, at least in the hardware.
Hopefully they announce some killer, I mean really killer, software features.
Exactly. If you set aside the exclusivity BS, the phone itself still looks and sounds amazing.
Which actually makes the whole situation even worse!
Google should've fully adopt Motorola without any bashfulness, should've created a separate page on the Play Store just for Moto X and should've had full color and storage customizations, and be all sold at Nexus-like prices.
That would've been the winner.
What's happening is exactly what I predicted a few pages ago. This phone was way over hyped and now everyone is disappointed. Go figure.
Again, the phone itself is not over-hyped. In fact, it's exactly the rumored specs.
How they're handling and distributing both the phone and information (like unlocked availability and prices) is what's disappointing. Maybe that's what you mean.
I am, personally, still liking the phone itself very much.
I meant people are bound to be disappointed no matter what happens. The fact that this phone was talked about as the second coming of Christ didn't help.
Only fools don’t protect their phones with a password, but it’s a pain in the neck to punch it in a few hundred times a day. Motorola plans to ease that pain (though not available at launch) by selling plastic tokens that can clip onto clothing—if the tab is within a few feet if the Moto X, no password necessary. (The tokens use NFC technology, built into the phones.) The Moto X will also let you set up password-free “safe zones” like your car.
Doesn't ship with 4.3. Called that one too.
Anybody hear if there are any plans to sell it on the Play Store? So far it's not looking good...

It comes a time when there's nothing new to invent you just create stuff and try to label it off as new. Nothing about this phone is different it's basically subpar but I think companies are really running out of ideas t this point.
