There camera isn't great... It's my least liked part of the Moto X. I actually just created a new thread on it on the Alternatives page.

The screen is actually the deal breaker for me. I think it is a combination between 720p and being amoled. It is very grainy and the colors are horribly inaccurate.

Not only that, Im still not convinced its really 4.7 inches, it feels tiny. Maybe its because the on screen buttons at the bottom and stupid notification bar up top take up probably half an inch combined. So its more like a 4.1 inch display. Is there no way to hide the notification bar in Chrome?

I don't think it can actually go full screen. I don't mind the size...actually prefer it for a phone. The amoled is staring to grown on me and putting HDR on when taking photos is a night and day difference. I toggle between the n5 and moto x and active notifications is the biggest thing I miss when not using the moto.

I knew I hated Chrome for a reason. I mean, even the default browser on my Note 3 goes full screen on a giant screen. Plus, I use Safari on my desktop and laptop, so I can't even make use of the features like bookmarks that run on both platforms with Chrome. Apps like Instagram where you have the notification bar, then the instagram buttons on the bottom and then the onscreen buttons under that make the usable screen size like iPhone 4 sized, basically unusable. Probably sending the Moto X back.

May I ask why you decided to sell the Moto X?

The display and camera. I think the camera is flat out atrocious. The amount of noise ruins all of my pictures. When I put HDR on it looks very cartoonist (which could be the display). The colors of the display are very inaccurate...to the point where is it hard to view social media sites with pictures.

I love the form factor and added features. The speakers are great, but the display is the ultimate deal breaker. Hopefully the x2 builds on the current x. I just can't pick it over the nexus...oddly enough the nexus feels more polished to me.

4.4 update should include immersive full screen mode for things like games, reading, movies, etc.

It is true 4.7 inch screen.

That's unfortunate since the camera's hardware is actual decent. Within 6 months it will be fully optimized.

I agree with the AMOLED remark. It was very difficult using a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I quickly returned it. However I believe that the moto x has better calibration than that. Did you give yourself enough time to adjust to it? Your body usually needs a certain period of time to adjust to things like that and they will stick out like a sore thumb at first.

I know I could use it and be happy, I just felt the n5 is better. Also, the n5 is smoother side by side. It is not a big difference but it's there.

I really hope this isn't the case for me. I returned the Nexus in favor of the Moto. Then again I don't use the camera a lot or browse social media. Hopefully the speakers, which are a big deal to me, out way these perceived shortcomings.

The speakers are great! Half volume is better than the nexus at full

It already has Kit Kat still no full screen. That immersive feature is only used in certain apps written for it. Moto x only has like 4.1 or maybe 4.2 inches usable screen real estate. Might as well have an iPhone.

If your reason for having an Android phone is a bigger screen and that's the only reason then yes.

It's a massive difference for you since you're coming from the Note 3, so I'd expect it to absolutely tiny for you, but I think it's the perfect size for a phone. On the other hand, if you're not afraid of rooting you can download Xposed to change the size of the on-screen buttons and make them smaller (I usually do this). By reducing the size by about 25% it increases screen real estate by a significant amount while also making it easy to still hit the buttons.

On an unrelated note, it looks like I'm returning the G2 as it STILL has the same problem as the first one I had, which is honestly just ridiculous. It's annoying, too, because it's such a damn good phone marred by such a small, yet crucial issue. Honestly am surprised more people don't complain about this. I've only seen one reviewer complain about it. I will be returning my trusty Moto X.

What are you going to switch to when you realize you don't like the Moto X again because of its battery and display? :p

Back to my old Nokia from 2006, I guess. :)

Honestly, though, I like both of those on the Moto X. Battery lasted me through the day and well into the night and the display isn't bad at all.

You confuse me haha. Just a few weeks ago in this thread you said:

"On the topic of the Moto X, however, since I'm a heavy user I think I'm going to be returning my Moto X to get a Droid MAXX or maybe a Note 3 for the reasons stated above (same phone, just has a much larger battery and display). The Moto X get's great battery life and can easily last most people a day, but I'm a very heavy user and on some days I can kill the Moto X by 6 or 7pm (still better than my S4 and iPhone 5s). I'm hoping that with a MAXX or a Note 3, that'll be a non-issue."

So you had both the MAXX and Note 3 and you are going back to the Moto X when you said a few weeks ago you didn't like the smaller display or the battery since you are a heavy user. You have serious phone ADD! :)

To be fair, I said that after I had gotten the KitKat update and for a few days after that I was having serious wakelocks and it was dying way faster than on Jellybean, and I also never said I didn't like the display, just that I'd prefer it a little bigger, like 5". But yeah, I do have a serious case of phone ADD. :)

I just want mine to get here. It's been being built for a couple of days now. The estimated delivery date was tomorrow but I doubt it will make it here by then.

I'm curious about the T-Mobile model. I hear this is unbranded and unlocked. If I buy it for full price off contract (with $150 promo :)), does that mean it's unlocked or do I need to go through another process to get it unlocked.

To clarify, by unlock, I'm asking about sim unlock as I care little about bootloader being unlocked. I'm fairly new to Android (well, this will be my first Android phone), so I don't plan to be too adventurous with my modifications.

I'm interested in sim unlock because I may have to use this phone over seas a few months a year, so this is important to me.

Should be unlocked. If it is not unlocked you can request the code from T-Mobile upon receipt of the phone.
