It's the best wearable out there. At least for a few days (I hope).

What do you people expect from Apple? I doubt they're even going to release a "smart watch". I believe it'll be more of a sports / health accessory that'll also display the time. It'll look great but getting better battery life from a real smart watch is simply impossible at the moment - Apple has to work with the same tech as everyone else. They can package it nicer, sure - but at the end of the day, it'll have the same innards. So if whatever Apple shows us next week is a smart watch, battery life won't be longer. As I doubt they'll release anything that has a battery life of only a day, it won't be a smart watch, it'll be a health accessory.

All these watches coming out now suggest that most companies do not believe apple will be doing a wearable anytime soon.

If apple does have something special - another 'why didn't we think of that' killer feature, then all these phones could end up dead on arrival.

iWatch

If the product that Apple release is called the iWatch I think it will be like a really good and more accurate fittness tracker with a small display, to compliment the new health app from the iOS 8. I think it will gather mostly information and will transfer data via NFC. I really don't think that Apple will try to put something out without it being perfect. I also think that battery life will be over 2 days at least. MY thoughts anyway...Roll on 09/09/2104!

It will be interesting. Many forget that when the original iPhone came out - while the UI was a lot of fun - actual functionality was limited.

It's entirely possible that Apple's initial offering will have less but it will be elegant to use.

Each to their own, personally I think this is really bad for a smart watch. I can go with charging my phone everyday but definitely not the watch. Just hopping this won't be the case with whatever wearable Apple is bringing.

Do you wear your watch to bed? Or do you put it on the nightstand next to your phone...

care to elaborate? It works exactly as it should (e.g. it shows you the cards you need - reminder for your next appointment etc.) and has full voice support. If you need to do a more extensive search, just hit a button and it'll continue on your phone.
.

I don't get the feeling of google now, it doesn't always recognise the person on the samsung gear live watch i used. still something is missing i'm not sure what but it's all about notifications and answering from your watch.
thats why i said i hope apple comes out with more like iPod and suitable for sports and such actions and do more than notifications

looks nice

You gotta admit it's really slick looking though! Function wise idk, but that sure is one sexy looking timepiece!

At this stage, it probably is one of the more efficient models on the market. So it's intriguing, but we;ll see what Apple has up its sleeve, though it wouldn't surprise me to see the iWatch released in 2015.

It's pretty sure that Apple won't launch any iWatch. Apple never said they were working on a watch. Samsung and Google assumed that they were talking about it. They rush to build a watch just to be the first to introduced a smart watch.

9.9.2014 will announce a new iPhone... And maybe a health band like the one Nike used to have but way better.

Let the competition fight for a smart watch ghost.

I like the way they've used a overlay for the screen on the video, trying to make the screen look sharper and faster than it probably is.

Do you mean in the same way that the Apple ads have, ‘Sequence shortened’ in 6pt text in their ads?

How about this - do you want/need another cord from your outlet or hub to yet another device (even if this is wireless charging - the base will have a cord).

When you travel - it's yet another cord/kit to pack. And if you don't - then you're going to be out of luck.

And so on.

Not trying to be difficult - but everyone has a different use case or preference. it's not crazy to want a watch that can be used for more than one day on a single charge. So in that respect - I fully "blame" the smartphone market for lowering expectations so much over the past several years.

One day batterry (half in real life) is very pathetic for a watch!!! Nobody will buy it except the most hardened android fans.

But no worry, next version will be 4" big with a bigger battery. And that's the android way!

besides the odd bulk and whimpy band this is one of the better android ones.

The main problem I have with it is the display is not a full circle (its cut off at the bottom like a flat tire) and the rim of the display is used to indicate battery life....

Seems to be loads of smart* watches getting thrown out there before Sept. 9.

*these watches will no longer be classed as smart after September 9th ;)

They're trying to sell as many as they can before they get outclassed. Look for fire sales on this watch in a few weeks...
