I'm the biggest Android fanboy around these parts ....
The name, the slogan, the demo. All I can see are cliché's.
Hope Apple comes with something more interesting than just the Idea of a watch receiving text messages.
what a cheap ass looking band and i dont like the silver bezel, looks just as cheap.
isnt there a 2nd gen already in the making?
No GPS puts the Moto 360 the toywatch category.
This watch is a backstep from their groundbreaking MOTOACTV years ago.
The guy uses the watch for directions in the video
Each to their own, personally I think this is really bad for a smart watch. I can go with charging my phone everyday but definitely not the watch. Just hopping this won't be the case with whatever wearable Apple is bringing.
According to the official specs there is no GPS processor. It's probably slaved to the mobile phone for directions.

All day battery life?? Incredible!
The Verge review says 12 hours battery life.
Anyone who buys a watch with that kind of battery life deserves to have a Samsung ad made about them.
Hoping*
I ditched my watch the day iPhone first came out. I hope it's more than just watch or maybe doesn't need watch but something else.
The Verge review said circular displays are the right form factor. Other than circular perhaps looking more fashionable (and like a traditional watch) I find that hard to believe for anything other than displaying time or maybe something simple like steps, heart rate, etc. How can a circular display be better for viewing notifications, texts, maps, email, etc.?
Looks kind of big and chunky to me.

I love the design but it's too big and too thick. The battery life is a day? I know I wouldn't want to charge my watch every day. A 'smart watch' needs to go a minimum of three days without charging. Let's hope the iWatch exceeds that. If the max between charges is three days, I'll most likely be passing.
You would think they would have used a standard watchband bracket to allow users to use any watchband on the market.
I have a feeling that Apple's device might have sensors built into the band.
As a "watch" person I can wear 3 to 4 different watches in a given week. Having one of them that can barely last 24 hours is a deal breaker.
Am I the only one that thinks that these watches are for a very specific niche market?
I agree, but until the tech is available to make a good totally standalone product, I just don't see a smart watch being anything more than a niche accessory, rather than a must have. Sure Apple will sell a bunch initially, because of their name - but why would it be a mainstream product ?

Totally agree. I really thought Moto was going places back then. But they fizzled.
