It depends on whether you want to be 'trendy'.

The iPhone is NOT dying, but it has lost its 'cool' factor, which is half the reason there are so many whiners on the iPhone forum as of late.

iPhone4 = smaller screen, worse reception, locked down features, etc... these things are a matter of preference, but with the iPhone you only have 1 option whereas there are about a dozen modern android phones with different characteristics to choose from.

Its no wonder fan boys on this forum are lashing out and feeling insecure.

Do your own research and decide whats right for you.

Apple fans on an apple forum, what will they think of next???

I have no reception issues, but I did watch the video of the Droid X dropping bars, however, if you watch closely, you can just make out, behind the X, a guy walking by holding up a Farady cage... :)

Are you serious? That phone is huge. The iPhone is big enough as it is, and the Droid X makes it look small in comparison. It's just way to large in my opinion. An iPhone in a case adds some thickness maybe, which still makes it nowhere near the size of the X.

You can't hold a phone 0.5" taller and 0.25" wider? :p

You guys sound like it's a Dell Streak or something.

The Dell, now that one is HUGE, lol. :D

The iPhone is still the most popular phone in the world. It hasn't lost any "cool" factor. I think the fact that it has been out for nearly two months, and yet you still have to wait 3 weeks to get one, says something about how bad people want this phone. I think you're the one who is insecure. What the hell are you doing on a apple forum anyways? I'll never understand that.

+ 1. :D

the iP4 I do not believe is over 1Ghz chip. Nexus is still faster.
So now we're just comparing it by clock-speed, eh? What a fair test. :D

Faster clock speed than iP4 (Overclockable to 1.2Ghz with undervolt to save battery), expandable to 32gb, faster browser, more frequent software updates, slightly larger screen, same battery life. Yep, definitely still better than the iP4 hardware wise.
Nope. That's an unfair comparison - how do you know it has a faster clock-speed? Faster browser (okay, this one's more of a possibility )? Same battery life? Really? The iPhone has a front-facing camera, far superior back camera with flash, a Retina Display, and is way thinner than the Nexus One.

As far as the other Android phones, it will be at the near top for a long time as it will get all of the optimizations and software updates long before any of the other Android phones do...
I can't agree to that statement. I'd much rather get an EVO or Droid X over a Nexus - quick software upgrades doesn't win over everything else. I'd much rather have superior hardware that is able to upgrade to the next version of software than something with mediocre (and quickly aging) hardware and quick software updates. Just my personal opinion. The Nexus is not the best hardware on the market. It once was, (back in it's day), but with new Android phones from HTC and Motorola coming out every few months...
Just saying. ;)

The Nexus One is a pretty damn good phone, was my previous one before my iPhone. I don't miss it as much as I thought I did.

It was a toss up between a Samsung Galaxy S for me or an iPhone 4 and I think I made the right choice. I love the iPhone. Both iOS and Android are such great mobile OS's.

Can't wait for Gingerbread... Will load it on my Nexus before all other major phones out there and sell it on eBay for major bucks.

If your N1 is such a groin tingler, why are you constantly posting in the iPhone forum?

They are indeed, both quite good. I know, since I have had them both from the first day they became available. In fact the only justification for comparing them is the fact that they are both smartphones. Beyond that, they are similar, yet very different. It all depends on ones preferences.

Well said, I concur.

Speaking from current personal experience with iPhones 3Gs & 4, as well as my Droid X and Samsung Captivate, they're all good, it just depends on what suits you.

All of them work for me, that's the fun of being a multi-platformist.

I find it funny, and apple has spent a lot of time jabbing its competitors, so turn about is fair play.

Also being a droid x user, I can say that its not that much larger then an iPhone. In fact its only a hair wider. My wife owns an IP4 and stacking the two on top of each other, you can see how close the dimensions truely are. The 4.3" screen is gorgeous, and really lends itself for watching videos, surfing the web and fast accurate typing.

Based on personal experience with my iPhone 4 and Droid X, I agree.

Kudos for your excellent post.
