HTC Sensation = Junk
Samsung Tablet = Junk

Why do you bother posting on a Mac/Apple forum? You seem to enjoy the low quality, non-Apple products. Go to those forums, and spout the virtues of those products...

It is possible to have both Apple and non-Apple products at the same time.

This is my favorite part:

in·ter·net/ˈintərˌnet/ troll /trōl/

1.Someone who gets pleasure by typing annoying/controversial/offensive words at strangers on internet forums, for them to read.

2.An obnoxious user or member on a forum that goes out of their way to make pointless, offensive, or annoying posts and messages.

3.Trolls are people who want to get on your nerves. They will usually lurk around the forums and wait for an opportunity to annoy or attack a user. The best way to ignore a troll is not to flame back, but to report and move on. Trolls are no good and should be exiled.

And my personal favourite!

4.One who intentionally posts on an internet forum to gain attention rather than contribute actual content. Some trolls may appear to contribute and may actually have meaningful posts, but the posts will be made in such a way that content is overlooked by design.Trolls generally are not successful irl and rely on the attention received on forums to support their delicate self images.

Gotta love me some urban dictionary!

Get we get back to the matter in hand, Motorola crushing Apple in Europe?

You shouldn't cheer for the law when it's "winning" for Apple and then root against it when it's "losing" for Apple... sort of defeats the purpose of the law.

I love your "Peter Griffin as Che Guevara" pic :D

MMI has just issued a press release.

The key phrase is here:

We have been negotiating with Apple and offering them reasonable licensing terms and conditions since 2007, and will continue our efforts to resolve our global patent dispute as soon as practicable.

The bottom line is that this is all about money. I doubt Motorola Mobility will actually seek to enforce a product ban.

The iPhone and iPad will not be banned in the UK. A huge percentage of their audience is within the EU. Also, all you Motorola and Samsung bummers, just **** off. This is MAC rumours. Don't like Apple? SCREW YOU!

Companies like Samsung and Motorola and just bitterly jealous of Apple because they can't produce anything but ****** mobiles that are practically just given away for free.

Apple won't lose Europe as an audience. Apple may just be forced to pay Motorola.

Well, I would't call a brief war almost two years of suits and counter suits.

They never actually went to national or regional courts, though (the closest was the ITC). 2 years is pretty brief in the world of lawsuits.

No it's not. I sold everything in my house that wasn't Apple branded the day I bought my first iPod.

I have a mixture of products , mostly older Apple products before they started going downhill. And shock horror a Mac Clone.

The bottom line is that this is all about money. I doubt Motorola Mobility will actually seek to enforce a product ban.

I think they will enforce it only if they don't get paid what they want.

Now the injunction is a threat to force Apple pay

Not a big deal. In a few months no one will be able to afford Apple products in Europe when their currency collpases.

I think you're referring to the countries that use the Euro currency. Thats not the whole of Europe ;) For one thing the UK never opted to use the Euro (good thing too I guess!).

Obvious solution?

ruling said:
Essentially, they can't just hold a FRAND defense against a patent holder who's suing them. Instead, they have to proactively make efforts to procure a license on FRAND terms by making an irrevocable, binding offer to the patent holder and by posting a bond for ongoing royalties.

Only if the FRAND patent holder denies a license despite having such an offer on the table, the defendant can claim that an injunction would result in a violation of competition law and, as a result, should not be granted.

It seems obvious to me. Apple should put the offer on the table. The judge's table, with a check for 1/3 the offer and a bond for 2/3 the offer. Let the judge determine when, to whom and how much should be paid. Be so forward leaning and compliant, an injunction is itself taken off the table.

By the time the lawsuit is litigated we will be beyond 1 or 2 full product cycles anyway including 4G LTE.

Rocketman

This is Motorola not Samsung, although I think Samsung have 3G patents too.

I think he was also referring to the Samsung case which was basically thrown out today: http://9to5mac.com/2011/12/09/samsu...ives-galaxy-tab-10-1-a-go-ahead-in-australia/

It was rightfully concluded that Samsung did not copy the iPad. Apple didnt help themselves by submitting doctored evidence though

Sigh, why cant we all just get along. Have all the tablets on the market, no legal battles and let the consumers decided with their wallets!

Indeed. This nonsense has to stop. Imagine if all these companies would spend the money they spend on lawsuits on improving their products instead.

Imagine a world without lawyers :

All of these lawsuits suck. big time. I guess in a utopian society, everyone would innovate, and if someone did use someone else's invention, they'd just go to that person/corporation and pay a reasonable price for it.

I suppose if there is money to be made, there will be lawyers...

That's not the way humans and reality work.

Since the dawn of time (wooden club in a cave) one man has seen something another man made and though, Oh, that's good. I can make something like that. Perhaps even make it better.

It's how we got where we are today.

Many things are just evolutionary versions of earlier things.

The same even goes for movies. There are only so many really different movies out there, everything else is just a modified version of something else

Ooooo I forgot one!

1.A person who spends all his time on forums, and generally has no life and lives in his parent's basement.

I like this game, lemme see if I can come up with one myself!

Troll: An individual who was abused as a child (possibly sexually), and has developed a complex, by which they go to one tech site, and promote a competing product. While trolls, being the insecure and underdeveloped individuals that they are, think people care what they say, the opposite is in fact true. Due to trolls social awkwardness and sexual inadequacy, it is best to treat them like they have special needs when you encounter them. It is often appropriate to use small words, and compliment them, as these individuals are mentally ill, unstable sociopaths that could very well shoot a place up.

It is ok bud. You are doing a goooood job with your posts. Keep up the goooood woooork.

You do know that a lot of the articles written on urban dictionary and uncyclopedia are written by people like the kind you are describing. I guess they have first hand experience like you?

Buy your phone now! Pretty soon all the smartphones will be blocked and you will only be able to buy a Razr type phone. </sarcasm>
