I watched Misery just last week for the first time in Forever. Kathy Bates is really good in it.

Also, the rape scene in Irreversible.

That one is maybe the most disturbing scene I've seen in a movie. The camera just stays there. No cutaways, no edits, no zooms, no pans. It just sits and watches and the viewer is begging it to be over.

It makes every other movie rape scene I've watched seem like a tender moment.

I don't know that "uncomfortable" is the best way to describe it, but the ending of the recent movie adaptation of Stephen King's "The Mist" gave me the strongest reaction I've had in decades.

BTW: my wife put on "40 year old Virgin" while my father was visiting. That's be her vote, I'm sure.

EDIT(oh, yeah): Cloverfield almost made me puke from motion sickness. And I never get motion sickness. Maybe it just sucked..?

OMFG !

Me too. I HATE that scene. I'll never watch that movie again. That scene disturbed me. Glad I'm not the only one.

Also, although dated, most of Clockwork Orange originally made me pretty uncomfortable - especially the "rape" scene.

The rape scene in Clockwork Orange is by FAR worse than RD. I love Reservoir Dogs, it really is a great movie, I guess you just have to have a certain taste to discover the meaning.

Other than not being able to listen to "Singing In The Rain" the most uncomfortable time is watching Super Bad (it wasn't the first time seeing it for any of us) with my mom and dad, and then after it was over saying that is how it really is now guys, then leaving to a party :p.

When I was a teenager and was watching a movie with sex or full nudity with my parents I was quite a bit uncomfortable but now it doesn't bother me (of course it has been awhile since I have seen a movie with my parents). I watched Juno and thought it was a great movie, nothing uncomfortable about it and I would have probably been open to watch it with my parents (I actually went with a guy friend of mine).

Depends, if they're good enough friends that you can pantomime it on the floor with them, while watching it.

It makes every other movie rape scene I've watched seem like a tender moment.

Consensual sex with me, makes every movie rape scene I've watched seem like a tender moment.

/Today feels like a good day for sick humour

Unfortunately, I'll break the rules of the thread and provide something with which I am uncomfortable whether or not someone else is around:

ANYTHING

WITH

HAYDEN

CHRISTENSEN.

Oh my God, wow, this kid can't act.

Scum; the snooker balls in a sock scene, the rape scene and the suicide scene.

Still feel weird thinking about it (and it's over 10 years since I saw it)

Possibly the biggest single event that kept me on the straight and narrow  :D

I watched South West Nine last night, one of the characters is in a bit of a state for most of the film, I empathised a ton with him, it reminded me of a few unpleasant things I've experienced.

American History X, opening scene with the guy and the... curb... /shudder

The curbing scene still makes me cringe even thought I've seen it more than 10 times.

The naked wrestling scene in Borat

That got a big "EEWWW!!" out of my wife and I but we were laughing our a···s off though.

For me, the rape of Marsellus in Pulp Fiction still disturbs me and makes me feel very awkward, almost scared.

Sex scenes. My parents are ridiculously prude, so they would 'censor' any movie me and my siblings watched that had remotely "offensive" content.

Thought of another one, The Aristocrats the whole movie makes me cringe. I had it on when I was painting the condo with my wife. It wasn't really the right time, company or sobriety level that movie requires. That and they beat that joke to death.

I may be the only one to feel this way, but almost any scene with Will Ferrell. Am I the only one who can see his "jokes" coming from a mile off?

Agreed. I've got a stong stomach for film violence, but that one messed me up for a few days. That, and the first (last?) scene with the fire extinguisher. With specific consideration for "discomfort", the sound effects as they walked into the club had me feeling very unnerved before anything even happened.

Glad I watched it, but I won't be seeing it again.

I'll agree with the stabbing scene in Saving Private Ryan.

Oh, and the torture scene in Syriana where they RIP OUT HIS FINGERNAILS WITH A PAIR OF PLIERS! You don't actually see it but seeing Clooney's toes curl and his voice scream blood-curdling hell is bad enough.

Not so much uncomfortable with others around, but just generally uncomfortable with the stabbing scene in Saving Private Ryan.

same scene for me - bar none the one that makes me the most uncomfortable out of all the movies i've seen. i just find it so incredibly disturbing. and this from a girl whose all-time favorite movies includes pulp fiction...
