Just downloaded it, and I'm liking it so far. I tried Chrome in the past but it just wasn't as good as Firefox. I only used Safari once when I first opened my Mac to download Firefox. I don't like using the browser that comes with any operating system, it gives them market share without needing to work to get it. I feel that Microsoft and Apple should work to get people to use their browsers, not just have them use it because it is there and people are too lazy to download a different one.

eek, how do i remove the icon's from the bookmark toolbar?

try this addon : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmarks-deiconizer/

Or disable them by adding the following to the userChrome.css file in the Firefox profile folder after the @namespace entry:

.bookmark-item:not(.bookmark-group):not([type="menu"]) > .toolbarbutton-icon { display: none !important; }

This keeps the icons for bookmark folders, but removes "normal" ones.

Firefox must be restarted before the changes become active.

Apple products do not crash. You must be using it wrong.

This stopped being funny a long time ago. Contributes nothing but a very old and tired attempt at humor.

Did anyone else have temps spike to above 80C and have their fans go nuts when websites that use a lot of Flash loaded? Mine went bonkers.

So far so good on my 2009 Mac pro. Seems much faster than 3.6.6 and on par with the latest version of Safari so I'm a happy camper.

While I have yet to try NotScript, those raving about Chrome and all of its buttery goodness have a fall sense of security when they buy into the entire "sandbox" choice wording of its feature-set. All that speed to become infected even faster!

F4 supports NoScript, and that's all I was looking for.

That's what I love about FireFox. The Fave Icon is a much easier way to look at tabs and bookmarks for me rather than to read a list.

But the Firefox way of doing things looks so messy.

eek, how do i remove the icon's from the bookmark toolbar?

And seems like I'm not the only one that hates it. Eek indeed!

Nope. Firefox still can't open 100 tabs easily. Sorry, Safari/Opera will be mine still.

Just out of curiosity, what are you doing in your browser where you like having 100 tabs open? I'm always surprised when I see people talking about having a mega number of tabs open, but I don't think I've ever actually asked anyone how they use them all.

Safari is still the best way to go on Lion, and Chrome or Safari on pretty much anything else imo.

Obtrusive, ugly, and just annoying to me... I can't stand the feel when using or programming to suit its needs...

Firefox 4 was not INTEL only in the early betas.

I know because I ran beta 3. Mozilla dropped support at beta 4 or sometime later I think.

However, TenFourFox has released a final 4.0 beta optimized for G3's, 2 different versions of G4's, and a G5 version.

In fact, they just updated their G5 version of 4.0 today as well.

It's not bad. I can see they're actively developing and doing bug fixes.

I realize PowerPC is dead, but if you have a topnotch G5, there's no reason you can't do anything an INTEL Mac can do and in some cases MORE! My G5 is certainly still more powerful than the initial lower end INTEL MACS.

I still use my last G5 to stream HD video and files to my HDTV set via HDMI.

There sure is a lot of love for Chrome on here. I personally hate it. I want a seperate dang search bar! Is that too much to ask?

Firefox 3 would take almost 30 seconds to start without any add-ons enabled. FF4 still takes as long. I must have a different version of FF4. It looks exactly like IE 9.

mine loads right on the second dock bounce. Why is it taking 30 seconds for some people?

oh and I am running add-ons too, Adblock plus, Evernote Web Clipper, Firefox Sync, FxIF, and Tineye.

I rarely open more than 3 to 4 tabs myself. Can't see having more than that open as it just becomes a memory hog. It's easy to open a new tab if needed.

Wait, this means we can view youtube video's in HTML5 now correct? (as long as we enable it in youtube settings)

I left the betas of 4 for a reason! That "transferring data" and "waiting for ..." thing in the bottom left (or right) corner is so F*ing annoying!

Thank Darwin I can deiconize the toolbar. Ugly as a pile of Ke$ha's vomit.

(I'm really picky about what my browser is allowed to do and my settings )
